I was apprehensive rather than excited to be going to my first Emeril's restaurant after reading the reviews posted here. I decided to keep an open mind and am so glad I did! The atmosphere was wonderful (I especially liked watching the pastry chef make pie crust in the 3rd story kitchen window), the service impecable (as I see in most of the older, traditional, upscale New Orleans restaurants: excellent service without being stuffy), and the food divine! I had the crabcake appetizer, a unique salad that included blueberries, the filet, and some sort of bananas foster/white chocolate bread pudding. It was all good! I liked that the presentation of the food was pleasing and the mix of ingredients a little unorthodox, but the food was not unrecognizible!
I was expecting the food to be overly seasoned and overly spicy but it was just perfect! The only drawback was the length of time the entire service took to complete - fortunately, I was with a bunch of friends so we really didn't mind that much. I didn't think the price was overly expensive for what I had and where I was. I'll definitely go back!
