I've stayed at the hotel numerous times but this was my first time since the storm.The staff esp. Wendall the bell boy/chef. He always goes above and beyond for us.The entire staff is VERY helpful and I love them all. Our room was exactly what I wanted.The room was clean and comfy. As far as roaches go I've never seen one at the Chateau but I stayed at a VERY much more pricier hotel in Nola and one was looking at me when I woke up! Hey it's NOLA............what do you expect? As for the girls and the haunted penthouse--it IS haunted!! I know it is but hey again it's NOLA.God Bless that beautiful hotel and city!Don't forget the people waiting on you hand and foot perhaps live with 5 other people in a FEMA trailer. Please give them a break already! Be generous and tip a lot too!!!!

We picked this hotel based on the pictures on the internet and the price point. The room we received was nothing like the picture. Very tiny! We feel we did not get much for $180 per night. We also had a bad experience regarding the housekeeping staff. I left my wedding ring on the bathroom counter which I realized as soon as I got into the taxi heading to my nephew's graduation ceremoney from Tulane Medical School. When we returned to the hotel, my ring was stolen. There was no break-in, so it was obvious that lady from housekeeping stole my ring. I reported the theft to staff and no one would look me in the eye and could care less. They did not offer any sympathy or any remedy for the theft even though we know the name of the housekeeper who cleaned our room that day and was the obvious thief. They told me that anything taken from my room by housekeeping was not their problem. They were completely unprofessional regarding handling the situation. I filed a police report which is the best I could do. I would never jeopardize someone's job by falsely accusing them of a crime, but this was a no brainer. I am so disappointed with their uncaring attitude and after reading other people's reviews of this hotel, I see that they have a history of property loss issues that they never remedied. Wish I would have read the reviews before making our reservation!

We have stayed here quite a few time over the years and absolutely enjoy seeing the same faces when we arrive. Wendell is incredible, he seems to do almost everything in and around the hotel. Everyone pitches in, as it is a small family establishment. This is the perfect little boutique hotel situated in the residental area of the French Quarter, but only 2 blocks from Jackson sqaure and Bourbon Street. You'll be made to feel as though you are part of the family.
On this trip we brought our 2 daughters 17 and 14 along with us. They completely enjoyed being in New Orleans. The staff was friendly and helpful as usual.
This is not a new hotel with all the bells and whistles, but it is a place where you can relax and enjoy the simple pleasures that make the French Quarter what it truly is. The rooms run from rather small to quite large, so ask before you book and you'll be confident you'll get what you need. The property is clean and a continental breakfast is served every morning.

Just got back last night from a weekend stay at the Chateau. Bobby at the front desk does look a bit gruff, but I think he's just misunderstood :-) Once engaged in conversation, he is very helpful. The only bellman is really a jack of all trades... he's moving bags, hailing cabs, serving the coffe and danish, taking people to their rooms and who knows what else!. Poor guy works 16 hrs a day on the weekends, but always said hello and goodbye and how's eveything. Our room, on the street side, was small but very nice and clean. Our king size bed was comfy and the pillows were very fluffy! Not a roach in sight. I will say that Sunday am when the garbage truck AND street cleaner came past there was a rumble, but Chartres is a few blocks from Bourbon, so that's the only noise we heard. We did get a newspaper each day at our door. The free continental breakfast consists of danish, muffins, coffee and juice. Sitting in the couryard enjoying the morning is a nice way to start your day. The Ritz it ain't... it is a very quaint hotel that we would have no trouble going back to.
