This is a lovely old home on a beautiful quiet street. It's a great retreat after a busy day in Manhattan. (The subway ride into town is a bit long, but not difficult.) We stayed (four people) in an apartment they have downstairs. This consists of two bedrooms with comfortable double beds, a full kitchen, a living room and bathroom. I saw that there were roll away beds which could have been set up in the living room for extra people. There is also a powder room in the hall outside which was very useful sometimes with four people using one bathroom. The place was very clean and nicely decorated. It had a lot of charm and the owners obviously took a lot of care with the place.
Breakfast consists of a great deal of freshly cut-up fruit, eggs cooked to order every day, and various kinds of good bread. Cereal was also available. It's served in a very pleasant room on the 2nd floor, where several guest rooms are also located. (I didn't see them, but the folks staying there seemed satisfied.) The owners live on the 3rd floor. The proprietor is friendly and very helpful. I saw that she spent a great deal of time with newcomers to the city, giving them tourist information and suggestions. The woman who cooked breakfast every day was also friendly and cheerful and made us feel really welcome.
The price is very reasonable when you consider what you are getting for the money. We stayed a whole week and thoroughly enjoyed it. We definitely felt that we had a home to come back to every night. The only drawback at all was the length of the commute, but that's not a bad trade-off.
