I stayed one night at the Park House Hotel while on business in Brooklyn. I chose this hotel because the price was right--under $150. The lobby and check-in were fine, but when I stepped off the elevator to go to my room, I gasped. The hallway was very dilapidated with peeling paint and wallpaper and dim bulbs without any shades. An ironing board in the corner had a ripped cover on it. The carpeting was stained and buckling. I was tempted to leave right then, but it was very late, and I didn't know where else to go. Luckily, the room was an improvement over the hallway. It was very large and clearn with 2 double beds and an efficiency kitchen. Amenities which are standard in most hotels (such as hair dryer and shampoo) were non-existent. The bath towels were very thin, and one didn't even wrap around me all the way even though I'm pretty petite. I left very early the next day, so I was not able to partake of the free breakfast. I doubt very much I would ever stay here again.
