We spent one night at the Jolie hotel, on our way back to Norway after a three weeks holiday in the US. We ended up booking this hotel, since all the hotels in Manhatten were fully booked or out of our price range.
First when we arrived we weren't too happy about the location, the area looked really run down. Fortunately we had the chance to spend some time wandering around and found it to be a really nice up and coming area with lots of a artist, young people, restaurants and small shops. But you have to walk a few blocks from the hotel towards Metropolitan avenue or Grand Avenue and Bedford Avenue. Not to far from the hotel we found New Yorks best coffee at the Oslo Coffe Company. And as mentioned earlier it's close to the subway which takes you to Manhattan in like no time.
The hotel is a new pretty average hotel. We stayed in an executive queen bed room, and they were a bit on the small side. Not really any room to open our luggage. We did see the king room next door when the housekeeping were cleaning the room, and they did seem quite a bit bigger. Since it's a new hotel everything is quite fresh and new, but the whole hotel is missing atmosphere and the staff could do with some customer service training. The beds were really comfy.
So all and all the hotel was pretty average, ok enough for a good nights sleep.
