“Not so great”

Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel

Stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend over July 4th weekend. This review may be biased due to the fact that there was a big convention/reunion at the hotel with hundreds of young adults---which I don't think the hotel's staff managed very well. Throughout the weekend, we had to push through crowds to get to the elevators---which by Saturday night weren't working properly. Sunday morning when we were leaving, there were cups on the elevator floor, and empty champagne bottles on tables in the lobby . We also had an incident with our neighbor---again, not the hotel's fault, but I don't think they handled it in the best possible way. Our first night there, our neighbors had an argument and the guy stormed out only to return at 3am and start banging on the door, and ultimately kicking in the wall next to the door. We called security but I honestly don't think they ever arrived. Due to the large volume of people at the hotel, we must have seen 10 people wearing t-shirts that said Security, so unless they were overwhelmed with other complaints (which was possible) there should have been no reason they didn't come up. We complained to the manager on duty the next morning and she said that it was being handled at a higher level---in my opinion, they should have thrown him out---there was substantial damage to the wall, so they had every right. I was worried the rest of the weekend that there were would be a repeat performance, and considered asking to move rooms, but other than some occasional shouting, they behaved. Also, we were staying on the Club Level, and you don't expect this type of behavior there.
By Saturday, several of the elevators weren't working at all, and the ones that were stopped at every floor---where there were crowds of partying people waiting to get on. I have to say when we did make it to our floor, it was like an oasis of calm compared to the other floors---even with the rowdy neighbors.
Our room was fine---comfy king-sized bed, flat screen TV, nice bath amenities, and a great view of Camden Yards----going to an Oriole game was the highlight of the weekend. I wasn't really impressed with the Inner Harbor or the restaurants there.
We planned on going to Fell's Point to eat, but for various reasons didn't get there.
While it is always good to get away, this trip definitely won't rank in our top 10.

“Four Star Accomodations at a Five Star Price”

Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel

Jun 21, 2008

The Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel located on South Charles St. immediately adjacent to the Baltimore Inner Harbor offers comfortable, spacious rooms with above average service. The hotel has two restaurants on site, the Oriole Grill and Morton's Steakhouse, the latter a somewhat pricey replica of Ruth Chris'.
The rooms are exceptionally clean, modern and well done, offering excellent views of Camden Yards, the City, and the Inner Harbor. There is plenty of of room to sprawl out and get comfortable. The indoor pool is tiny, and suffers from an excess of chlorine that will burn and redden your eyes.

However, at $300 a night, you must remember you are in Baltimore, and not New York, San Francisco, or Paris. The Hotel is grossly overpriced, plus a $22 per day parking fee, and you really would do better to stay elsewhere and invest the dollars saved eating some Maryland Seafood. I would return, but not at that rate.

“My service was great!”

Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel

4 of 5 stars
Pittsburgh
Jun 17, 2008

I saw some of the previous reviews in regards to receiving bad service and I must say our experience was the total opposite. From the moment I called to confirm our reservations until the moment we left we received excellent service. All staff members were extremely courteous. We were traveling with an infant so it could be quite difficult. But the staff went out of their way to assist us with what ever we needed. The room itself was nice. It was a little above average. We had a nice view of the harbor. The hotel is conveniently located to the Inner Harbor and Camden Yards. I would definitely consider staying at this hotel for any future travels.

“Great times in Inner Harbor”

Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel

4 of 5 stars
Wilkes- Barre, PA
Jun 13, 2008

We stayed at the Sheraton Inner Harbor in March of 2008. We went down for a couple days during our spring break. Being college students on a tight budget, we chose the Sheraton through the Starwood Prefered Guest program points. Before arriving, I had called numerous times to confirm that we had a harbor view room, apparently, I had accidentaly booked a stadium view room.
Upon arrival, the gentleman at the front desk gave me a "standard room", but said you can see the harbor from it and it was still a cheaper price. Sure enough, we got a great room with a great view of the harbor.
The hotel staff was very accomodating through out our stay. We had problems with our air conditioning and they were in our room with in minutes to fix it. The bell men also assisted us with where to go with in the city (we were not from the area). The front desk staff was also there to answer our many questions, and room service was quickly delivered and still warm.
The inner harbor was a great experience. The aquarium was fun and interesting. The science center was great and the exhibition "Body Worlds" was highly educational. We also spent our nights at Power Plant Live. Good times, Friday nights at Angel's Rock bar there was free drinks from 9-10, and the Lodge Bar was a great low key place to hang out.
To everyone that complained about this hotel, I understand that parking sucked, and if you are going to park your own car, there SHOULD be no charge, so that sucked. Being a former hotel employee, I can tell you that you can only complain so much before the front desk staff and everyone else DOES STOP TO CARE because they feel they cannot please you, so why even try.
A little hotel tip. Being very gracious and manners goes A LONG WAY when dealing with people in service.
I would personally like to thank the front desk staff for being knowledgable about the area, their curtious service and being promt when I ordered a fridge and called about problems with my air conditioning.
I would definately be back to this hotel.
