“Couple things to NOT DO”

Sheraton Baltimore City Center Hotel

3 of 5 stars
Richmond, Va
Jul 24, 2008

Don't valet your car. I have stayed at this hotel twice, as when they say 15 minutes to get your car, count on at least 30minutes. The first time, I was waiting for so long, I just went down to the parking garage to get my own car. The last time, it took 35min to retrive my car at 10am, which is usually not the busiest time of the day for hotel valets.

Be prepared to wait for a elevator for a long time. They only have two elevators for 25 floors and usually takes a very long time. Arrived at 5:00 and was in-line for 10 minutes for the elevator.

Other than that, rooms OK, location OK. Just be prepared to wait for the elevator and self park. Valet is 33 bucks and not worth 3 bucks.

“An perfectly acceptable place to stay”

Sheraton Baltimore City Center Hotel

3 of 5 stars
New York, NY
Jun 22, 2008

We booked a night at this hotel at the very last minute, after reading terrible reviews about the hotel we were supposed to stay. This hotel was incredibly average... nothing that made the stay good or bad. The rooms seem a bit dated, which is odd considering they were just redone, and it seems absurd this day and age not to offer free internet connection (the sheraton charged $10 a day). The room was okay... clean, average side, a bit spare. Nothing noteworthy, but nothing to run from, either.
The price was incredibly competitive, especially since we booked with less than 24 hours notice... the price we got online was easily $100 less than surrounding properties. The neighborhood was a bit sketchy, but I think that's just the nature of the city. Valet parking was costly, but the valet was forthcoming with cheaper off-site parking options when asked (we did valet anyway). The best part of the hotel is its proximity to the Inner Harbor and Camden Yards... we easily walked to both

“Great Pet Friendly Hotel close to Inner Harbor”

We had an amazing experience at this hotel.
Every single experience with a staff member was pleasant. They allow dogs under 40lbs with no extra charge, only a deposit. Short walk to the Inner Harbor.
Would definitely stay here again.

“Ask...and you shall receive”

Sheraton Baltimore City Center Hotel

We arrived at the front desk an hour before check-in time, and were greeted warmly by the staff. "Welcome to the Sheraton" Lucky for us, a room was ready.

Thanks to previous reviews, we had made a request for the South Tower-higher floor upon booking, and that's exactly what we received.

From the lobby to the elevator, the surroundings are very pleasant. The nautical black and white photography touches were very nice, and this trend continued in our room.

Our king room was on the small side, however perfect for two (2) adults. A leather headboard in deep tones, dark wood side tables, desk, and dresser.

The wall mounted flat screen was a nice modern touch, and the bedding was a mix of whites and navy to go along with the nautical flair.

A striped wallpaper of white and blue, was a nice backdrop to the white sink, and large white tiled shower in the bathroom. Modern fixtures and shelving in crome was a nice touch. Thick white bath towels, hand towels, and wash cloths were plentiful. Not your usual one set per person.

After a day of short walks to the Inner Harbor, water taxi rides to Fells Point for cold beer and dinner, and an evening at Camden Yards, the hotel's location allowed for parking the car upon arrival, and not needing it again throughout our stay. A comfortable bed was a lovely way to end a great day.

Would we stay at this property again? Absolutely.

“Great for a conference, but ...”

Sheraton Baltimore City Center Hotel

Houston, Texas

I found myself at the Sheraton for business conference in March of this year. I was hoping for cooler weather, but alas, I must have brought my Houston heat because it was pretty warm outside!

The hotel was chosen by my employer as all our meetings were to take place there. The rooms were adequate, but the furnishings were old and the bedding as well. A colleague had stains in her bed, but mine was clean, despite the "oldness." It reminded me of the 70's, which is cool and all, but not in a business setting and not when the rest of the hotel is up-to-date with amenities and furnishings.

All in all, the conference went very well. I should notate that I was walking around in a fitted boot due to a recently broken foot and severely sprained ankle and it was tough walking all over the hotel to attend various meetings and eat lunch. Beautiful setting outside the windows, but not so much in our individual rooms.

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — Conference in the same hotel our rooms were located.
    • Disliked — Old furnishings, tough to get around when injured, loud room doors (forgot that in my review)
