“Poor Housekeeping”

I had trash from a previous guest still on the floor in my room! Tissue paper (yuck!) and an aspirin wrapper on the floor. I noticed these items when I checked in, but was too tired to deal with changing rooms or notifying the desk. The next morning I stopped by to notify managment but there was a line so I had to go to work.

The worst part of the issue is that the tissue paper remained there after the maid did the room up again the next day! At that point I did have a discussion with the desk clerk, who apoligied and said I would receive extra Hilton points for my trouble. Which didn't happen.

Otherwise the place really doesn't have much to recommend it. There must be better places to recommend in the area. The only dining option on site was an Au Bon Pain with a seriously nasty breakfast buffet.

On a positve note, the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet.

“Good for the options you have in NE Philly”

I must be honest, I had a bad stay at this location in 2003 (dirty, poor service, parties after midnight in the halls) so with some trepidation I tried it again hoping for better. I'm happy to report things were better this time around--check in staff was attentive, actually made eye contact and was friendly, rooms have been been updated somewhat, clean--at least during my 2 night stay, and no smoke leaching into my room from the floors above or below. Both nightstand lights were out and after asking the made both were fixed that day and they offerred me one of their warm cookies--amusing, but at least they fixed them. I didn't try the pool or the Au Bon Pain so check the other reviews for those. As for the area, I grew up in Northeast Philadelphia and it's pretty much strip malls and more strip malls, row houses and single family homes so for the area it's one of the nicer ones--Radisson up Roosevelt Boulevard in Trevose is probably the only other one I would recommend since I've stayed there too. As for food options, hotel is surrounded by restaurants and fast food is in walking distance so onsite food didn't really matter to me. As for the room, with most hotels--even lower bracket ones moving to flat screens and nice comforters this location is dated with their TVs and flimsy paper thin blankets--reminds me of a 70s Holiday Inn, but at $100+ a nite it should be nicer. Will stay again though.

“Ok but nothing spectacular”

Four Points by Sheraton Philadelphia Northeast

Sep 17, 2006

Pleasant enough place to stay, convenient to what I needed.

Overall cleanliness was good, however I never did have a clean coffee cup for any of the 4 nights I spent here. First night it had a hair stuck to the coffee residue and another day I again found residue in the cup. Looked as though the cups should be replaced, many were cracked.

Room was clean, spacious enough for my needs. Free cookie upon arrival was nice and there was a free breakfast buffet for federal employees staying there (be sure to ask for voucher). Food in buffet was sufficient, though somewhat limited.

Overall, not a bad experience, despite the few things mentioned. Would stay here again if I need to revisit area.

“Good service, but uncomfortable..”

Stayed here with my family of 3 to go to Sesame Place. For the great price I got on Priceline, the hotel was adequate. I give a thumbs-up to the staff. It seems clear that they make a real effort to be extra accommodating. Everyone was super nice. As for the rooms, the one we got was puny - just barely enough room to roll out of bed in the morning. But it does appear we got the smallest room on the floor. Must've been the "Priceline" room. The hotel, while clean enough, just had a tired feel to it. The exterior of the hotel had a very institutional feel to it. And the fact that it shares it's parking lot with a Ford Dealership doesn't exactly add any charm, either. Would I stay here again? Nope. Last year, we stayed at the Radisson in Trevose, which was much more pleasant. Actually, I tried to get the Radisson again this year, but they wouldn't bite on Priceline (I guess word got out).

“Disorganize and tired”

I choose to stay at Hilton properties. I appreciate free internet access from practically all classes. I switched from Marriott because internet, water, and just about everything else was billed at a premium .. especially in their top hotels.

Check in was slow .. it was a Sunday afternoon, at 4 pm, very few cars in the parking lot .. and we were told our rooms were not ready. Odd .. They managed to find a couple.

About an hour after checkin .. in the middle of my nap.. another guest wanted in my room. ... same thing happened to my associate in another room .. as if that wasn't enough .. the front desk had to call me to make sure the embarrased guest wasn't making it up.

My associate got calls at about 3 am .. from an outside caller put through by the desk .. NOT one call but 2. She finally called the desk and the clerk assured her that he asked if the caller knew the party he was calling .. duh .. didn't bother verifying the name on the room.

The sheets were thin .. the bed was old style and too soft .. I am writing this from a Hampton Inn .. and a much nicer hotel ..

What is a Double Tree any way?
