“BEWARE !!!!!!”

Residence Inn Philadelphia Center City

2 of 5 stars
New Jersey
Jun 12, 2008

The hotel has many issues. The 1st room were were given smelled like cigarette smoke and they were able to send us to another room. This room was about 100 sq. ft smaller. Due to fire code the hotel does not provide roll away beds. This was never disclosed to us during booking. The bed issue is a problem with preteen children being forced to sleep in the same bed. The valet parking was terrible - long waits and when my car was returned during check out the passengers side window was cracked from an attempted break-in. The hotel did take parking off the bill, however their parking service ( Town Park LTD) claims no responsibility ...WHAT !!!! This will now cost us another $275.

The pool is small and in the basement. The pool was seriously over chlorinated and generally not clean. The food served at the buffet was sub-par and no other food is available in the hotel. Please consider the rate vs. experience factor when booking. Try the Marriott 1 block away for a great room with pool and food service.

Never to return !!!!

“Loved This Place”

First let me say we are NOT city people, county bumbkins at heart!

We traveled to Philadelphia for medical school graduation and chose to stay here across from City Hall and the fact that the price was right and they offered a reasonably priced airport shuttle service.

We stayed two nights and could not have been more pleased. The accommodations were great.

The bed was so comfortable! The complimentary breakfast was more than anyone could possibly ask for - from eggs to make your own wafflles, to bagels or yogurt, there was something for everyone and it was included in the room charge.

We had a studio, with a full size refrig, coffee pot, microwave etc and coffee and tea and popcorn was furnished.

The room was plenty large enough and my significant other lived on the wireless internet while I relaxed with a good book.

Great value for the money considering other hotels in the area were well over $200 per night.

Highly recommend this facility. The front desk was extremely helpful and courteous at all times of the day.

“Best choice for family and location”

Residence Inn Philadelphia Center City

4 of 5 stars
Arlington, VA
Jun 7, 2008

Our family of four adults stayed at this hotel for three nights in a two bedroom/two bath suite. The location was ideal. We were across the street from City Hall and the Septa train in walking distance to the museums, convention center, shopping. We were also only a couple blocks from Reading Terminal Market, where we purchased food for many meals. It was a good resource to bring food back to our room. The front desk staff was helpful, giving us directions and arranging for an airport shuttle. They also provided us with restaurant delivery menus. I have stayed at several Residence Inns, and from my experience, this one rates as one of the best. The room was comfortable and reasonably updated. There is a small indoor pool in the basement. It was good for swimming laps, as there was no one else in there. There are not very many choices for two bedroom/two bath suites, let alone at this price. It was cheaper than getting two rooms at other hotels. The breakfast was better than some other Residence Inns. I would stay here again if traveling with a family.

“No Complaints.....OK, maybe one...”

Residence Inn Philadelphia Center City

4 of 5 stars
South Florida
Apr 29, 2008

This was a perfect choice for a family trip to Philly. Big suite, with a separate (with a door) bedroom, fold out sofa bed, and kitchenette. Breakfast, which wasn't bad, was included in the room price. The location, directly across the street from city hall, was an ideal starting point for checking out most of Center City's attractions.

My only complaint is that the front desk was understaffed, both at check in and other times when we needed their assistance. Other than that, though, as I said, no complaints.

“Excellent Experience”

Great location, nice room, typical Residence Inn layout. We stayed in a corner room on the 18th floor ... we had 5 windows! Comfy beds, flat screen TV, nice bath products, relaxing rain-like shower head. Excellent buffet breakfast. Helpful front desk staff ... especially Heather. It was an easy shortcut to cut thru City Hall to/from hotel. Nice central location. Would definitely stay at this property again.
