Very nice but expensive hotel very close to independence park. I would not stay anywhere downtown with a family, as the entire area closes up at 5 p.m. with the exception of a few dive-type eating spots. All the historic things can be seen in a day, so I would stay in a suburb and take a bus or trolly in for the day. Area around independence park is pretty and nice, but the rest of the town was dirty and unkept for the most part.
Hotel itself was nice, with a large room and bath. Not a room for late risers as the street noise is loud early. Don't count on the pool to entertain kids in the evening as the pool is a small, lap type pool accesible only through the spa. Not a comfortable area for kids.
Cost was about $30/day for parking. Bell/valet staff very nice.

Despite a late arrival, they had two complimentary "Kids packs" ready and waiting for our children. They almost immediately brought a tray of cookies and milk to our room for the kids (Dad ate one of the cookies though). A great touch - even though we were on a special low rate.

Also very prompt and efficient service from Bell Captain and parking valet.

Truly less than one block to Independence Hall and a short walk to any of the other major histrical sites. Quick and efficient food court around the corner in The Bourse. But it is Philly so you should really get a cheessteak from a street vendor.

Excellent service, excellent location, excellent everything.

How does every Omni (including this one) execute on every detail without making you feel like you're smothered in kindness? I don't really care, just keep doing it.

I stayed here during a conference and loved how warm and personal the hotel feels. Very much like heading "home" instead of to a certain mega-hotel on Market which is basically an extension of the downtown circus. After a short 10 minute walk from the conference center, walking into the Omni took my stress level down instantly.

Lives up to the Omni standard in every single way.

We had reservations at the Courtyard for our planned stay of 6/13-
6/16/08. Then read review on this site regarding the location of the hotel. Began to have doubts. Went to this site and researched Omni prices as I had stayed at this hotel before and had a good experience. Well, got a good price on Expedia and cancelled at the Courtyard. The Omni was a wonderful experience, the staff, the concierge, the room all were great. If we go back to Philly this is the place I want to stay. Passed the Courtyard on the way to Reading Terminal - was very happy we changed hotels. The location of the Courtyard really puts a damper on nighttime strolls - as well as daytime strolls. Thanks to this site, we really enjoyed our trip. Thanks Trip Advisor!
