My husband, teenage daughter, and I stayed her two nights in June. We liked the location in the historic district. The front desk personnel were very helpful and friendly. The room was nicely furnished. The bathroom was a bit small with a single sink and small counter. The hair dryer took an extremely long time to dry our hair. I requested a room in a quiet area of the hotel, but was given a room facing the fire station on the corner. We didn't ask to be moved, but the sirens made it difficult to sleep. The sheets and pillow cases were quite scratchy (obviously low quality). The A/C was very loud. These are all things that make a difference to me because I'm a light sleeper.
We made the mistake of eating breakfast in the restaurant one morning. There was a very long wait to be seated. They obviously were short-handed and did not have enough people to clear the tables, re-stock the breakfast buffet, and wait on customers. The continental breakfast buffet cost $8.95. The hot breakfast buffet cost $12.95. Neither was worth the money. I would NOT recommend eating breakfast at the hotel. There are other places within walking distance were you can have a nice breakfast. We ate at the nearby Metropolitan Bakery the next day.
I was very disappointed that we were charged a $10 surcharge for our 15-year-old daughter to stay in the room. We have never been charged an extra fee for our daughter at any of the other hotels we have stayed at in the past.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel, but probably wouldn't stay there again.
