“Great for families too”

Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia

Nov 24, 2007

I had stayed at the FSP before and had a positive experience so I went back with my wife and three kids for a special occasion. We stayed in an executive suite, plenty of room for all with a door between the two sleeping areas. The room was dated but clean and well kept. Also, quiet which I really appreciate. Bathroom small but fine, great shower. Housekeeping was very helpful, friendly. The staff made a fuss over the kids, wanted to know names and ages and had special trinkets for them as well as bedtime snacks. Kids loved the pool. My wife had a great massage at the spa. Had dinner at the Fountain, great food and even better service, a special experience, but expensive, almost as much as the room for the night. Location of the hotel is great, walk to lots of activities. Summary:
pro: location, service, they seem to go out of their way for families
cons: expensive

“Lovely hotel, great location”

As with other Four Seasons' properties this is a premium quality hotel. The decor in the public rooms and guest quarters is subdued and elegant. Stayed in an executive suite which was large and comfortable. The bathroom, however, was somewhat on the small side and not particularly attractive.
Service in the hotel is first rate. Only ate breakfast meals at the Four Seasons and found them to be excellent.
Location is superb, near art galleries and shopping areas.

I stayed at the Four Seasons Philly for 4 days in September. The best thing about it is its location. It's close to the major office buildings and looks out over Logan Circle.

But that's where the luxury stops. The bathroom was a letdown: there was no division between the sink area and the rest of the room. It felt like it was last updated in 1985. There weren't any glaring faults--it was clean and adequate but that was about it.

The same was true of the public spaces. They felt old. Not in a tired way but as if they had just been taken out of a time capsule. Along with an episode of Dynasty and a Diet Tab.

The most irritating thing about the hotel is that they charge for the use of their business center. I stayed at 3 other hotels on this trip (not in Philadelphia), 2 of which were similar in price and both of them offered free internet in their business center. It was ridiculous to be charged $20 for 30 minutes.

“Nice restaurant, clean room”

Angry, frustrated and felt that the service and attitude was inconsistent with their price point. This property is niot indicative of the chain. Service and attitude of employees was consistent with a Motel 8.
Started with an incorrect bill for dinner the first night in the hotel and ended with an demand from "Amy" to vacate by 1:00 PM or pay another half day. We were dine with our family Priest in the Fountain Room and because of not have a place to change, drove 6 1/2 hours in a suit and tie.
Manager called and sort of apologized and offer a free nigh if we returned. Thoughtful, but not satisfactory. Compensation is not the answer, high quality service is what is required.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a weekend getaway for our 1st wedding anniversary. We absolutely loved it! The service at this hotel was honestly exceptional. Every single one of our needs was attended to. The only negative thing I found about the hotel was the "spa pool". We had massages booked for 5 pm and figured we would take an hour before hand to relax in the indoor pool and hot tub. We never actually ended up relaxing as all guests have access to the pool area. Normally I would never complain about that, but it is a bit difficult to unwind in a hot tub in a "spa" when children are jumping in the pool and screaming. Needless to say, we headed upstairs and had a bite to eat instead. Then we headed downstairs and had 2 of the best massages we have ever had. Overall, we loved our stay here. Next time, we will just avoid the pool.
