I stayed here for 3 nights beginning of March 2008. I was attending concerts & a sporting event at the Wachovia Center. This hotel is withing walking distance to the Wachovia complex, if the weather is cooperative! SO excellent location! a

The room was clean, good sized bathroom... much to our surprise, our room had a mini fridge and microwave in it !!!! There is a great bar downstairs, did not eat any food here so can't comment on that. Free parking for guests! Would definitely stay here again, and am at the end of the month :)

“Disliked the Service”

I stayed at this hotel for the flower show in Philly since it offered an excellent price which included the tickets. The hotel was fine, rooms were clean, etc. but the service was absolutely horrible. They did not have the tickets for the flower show as promised and it was a great ordeal just to get this issue resolved. The staff were beyond clueless in helping resolve the problem.
They really should be trained in how to be courteous to their guests.

“Ignorant Manager & Staff!!!”

Holiday Inn Philadelphia Stadium

My mother and I stayed a total of approximately 14 nights between Jan 08 & Feb 08. My father was in the VA Hospital and we felt this was a safe and convenient place to stay. The nightmare starts with miscellaneous things not working heater- extremely loud- dirty bathtubs- terrible showerheads-corroded with hard water minerals. That was bearable, but the staff is NOT!! My mother left the VA hospital to check into the hotel to leave her bags for the night.and was going back to the hospital. She received a phone call from the doctor on her way to the hotel. She was told my father was not doing well and they didn't think that he would survive. She walked into the Holiday Inn, which she stay out previously at least 12 times in the past month. She was treated with complete disrespect by the manager Mr. Barkley. She wanted to use my credit card to check in which was used many times before without me and they said she could be a thief. I was willing to fax the hotel a letter that authorized them to use my credit card. That was not good enough. I said I would contact the credit card company to give my authorization and that was good enough for Mr Barkley. I even contacted Priority Club which my mother and I are members of. They contacted Mr Barkley and he would not budge.
Well, my mother said oh, there is a money machine in the lobby, I'll get cash to pay you. She walked to the machine and it wasn't working. As she was walking back to the desk, the front desk staff including Mr Barkley were laughing at my mother. She explained to them the dire situation with my father in the hospital and they were not willing to help my mom in any way. She eventually went to the horse race facility across the street and got the cash to pay for the room.
The next day I came down to Philadelphia to be with my mom and presented my credit card and driver license. I asked to speak with Mr Barkley and he told the employee that he was on lunch and when he was through with his lunch he would see me. ( Great customer service huh??) I told the employee that we were going to the room and for him to come to our room or call on the room phone to discuss, the past night situation. HE NEVER DID!! The next morning we went to the front desk to check out and Inez welcomed my mother right away. She knew my mom because of all the nights she stayed there. My mother told Inez of the previous situation and she apologized for Mr Barkley and the staff.
To sum it up my mother ended up being charged for an extra night that she didn't stay there and my father died in the VA Hospital the next day. Please boycott this hotel for my family and yours. Would you want to deal with these kind of people when your going through such a emotional time. Thank you in advance for not using this hotel. Melissa

“Pleasant but Predictable”

Holiday Inn Philadelphia Stadium

3 of 5 stars
California
Feb 20, 2008

We made our reservations on Hotwire and were assigned to this hotel. It was completely as expected for a Holiday Inn. It was clean and in good condition but lacked any style and was just a blah room/hotel. The great thing about this property is the complimentary airport shuttle. Though when I discovered there was a Marriott right at the airport I definitely wished we were staying there. THe front desk and shuttle staff was friendly. The girls who worked in the restaurant/bar definitely did not dress or behave professionally for this being a part of the hotel. There was more of a club atmosphere and the music was too loud. At 11:00p.m. we got a knock on our door from security trying to deliver a blanket that we had not ordered. We were trying to sleep so that was annoying...they must have gone to the wrong room. The complimentary newspaper delivery was a nice touch.

“Good for a game”

Holiday Inn Philadelphia Stadium

Stayed here for 2 nights for a hockey game at Wachovia. Overall I felt that it was very good for the price. The room was clean and the staff was friendly and professional. There was a nice sports bar on the first floor and the food was good. The hotel is located next to the three sports stadiums, so if you're there for a game it's where you want to be. Downtown Philly and the night life (South Street) are a few miles away. I would stay here again. Good Luck.
