We too stopped here on our way back to Virginia after a day at Gettysburg. This is a moderately priced, Irish-themed family restaurant. The decor is wonderful, with candles, a nice fireplace, a player piano and a small gift area.
The food consisted of typical Irish fair mixed with a good selection of seafood dishes (i had the broiled fisherman's platter consisting of halibut, shrimp, scallops, and crab). They had excellent soups as well, including muligatani. They also have a nice selection of kids dishes, which each include two vegetables. Vegetable choices included nice touches including home-grown kale in a mustard sauce, green beans and bacon, and cranberry apple sauce.
All dinners come with a decent salad bar and fresh bread as well Service was prompt and friendly, and you definitely know you are in a family owned restaurant as opposed to a chain.
We are sure to make this a regular stop on our trips through Western Maryland.
