“Great Hotel close to EVERYTHING!”

Hilton Garden Inn Times Square

5 of 5 stars
Knoxville, TN
Jun 16, 2008

We got a corporate rate through my company for our stay. We paid about $210 a night and the rate included breakfast. The trip was a personal trip and my husband and I with my 8 month old daugther celebrated father's day here together. First off, NYC is very expensive and so you must always have cash on hand. If you expect any kind of reasonable service from the bell hops, etc, you must tip them. Tip them well b/c you will need them. We had a king room on floor 15 and it was lovely. It had a fridge and microwave and a nice flat screen tv. Our room was quite large however our bathroom was very tiny. The door barely misses the toilet when you try to open it. That is typical of NYC hotels from what I've experienced and the size of the general room more than made up for it.

The rate included breakfast as I mentioned, and it was quite good. It was at the restaurant attached to the hotel and was very hearty. There is a set menu for you to choose from which included waffles with bacon or an omelette with bacon and potatoes. It filled us up and so we were good for about 6 hours!

Times square is about 2 blocks around the corner. Very close proximity and an easy walk. We even walked to Pier 83 which is where all the boat tours are. We paid $29 each (adults) for the tour and it took us halfway around the island for 2 hours. We got to see the statue of liberty up close and all the bridges. It was fantastic and was operated by circle line 42. I would suggest arriving 45 min early to secure a space in line. We got on the boat last and wound up with mediocre seats. We eventually got to stand at the beginning of the boat to see the water.

Check out Mesa Grill (Bobby Flay's restaurant) if you have time. The food is to die for. Excellent chef that one is (My yodaism for the day).

All in all, the HGI times square is one that I will definitely stay in again. The rooms look just like the pics and they are very accomodating. Great place!

“Great location to Times Square and clean Hotel”

Hilton Garden Inn Times Square

4 of 5 stars
Roseville, California
Jun 13, 2008

We just got back from a three night stay in the King Evolution room. Requested a high floor beforehand and the front desk was more than happy to accommodate. We didn't ask for a room away from vending machines and the elevator, ended up in the first room by both! Bellman offered to get our room changed immediately but we said we'll give it a try. Did not move rooms because it wasn't bad at all...of course we did have the AC on for the duration because of the heat, but didnt mind the noise from it.

I searched and searched even after I booked this and knew after reading the ongoing reviews that I shouldn't think about booking someplace else. You will be happy with your stay.

The reviews about this hotel are true. Its really is great. You can walk to Central Park, TS, Rockefeller

*Comfy beds
*Convenient location to Times Square and Rockefeller Center
*Subway stop at 50th is super close
*Starbucks on the corner
*Friendly staff
*Free Internet in every room
*Great restaurants
*Reasonably priced for NY standards, don't bother with calling around if you want to stay near TS. This is the best deal.
*Close enough to the attraction of TS but without all the city lights and people everywhere

This Hilton wants a 10 out of 10 rating, and will try to accommodate you any way they can.

“Location is great!”

Hilton Garden Inn Times Square

5 of 5 stars
Grand Island, New York
Jun 8, 2008

This hotel is one block from times square and the location is excellent for shopping, dining and sightseeing. The grey line bus tour pick up is just down the street. The room was clean and pleasant. The hotel offered free internet service in the lobby as well as coffee makers, microwaves and a small fridge in the room. We were placed in a handicap accessable room so we did lose a little space in the room but there was more than enough room for the two of us. While we did not have a room with a view on a higher floor, our room was clean and the staff was friendly and courteous.

“Nice retreat from busy streets”

Hilton Garden Inn Times Square

5 of 5 stars
Redlands, Ca
Jun 8, 2008

The Hilton Garden Inn Times Square is a nice retreat from the busy streets of the Theatre District. The rooms are nicely decorated (with beautiful black and white photos of NYC) and comfortable. Most importantly, they are well-sized and soundproofed. The hotel offers a fitness center and a business center. The latter is particular useful, though small: four computer stations with a fax and printer are available for free 24 hours/day for hotel guests. The staff were all friendly and responsive. Although I didn't order room service, the restaurant was always busy (leaving me to believe the food is good). The location is excellent-- walking distance to the theaters (so no fighting for taxis) plus easy access to the busses and subway lines. I'd definitely choose this hotel again.

“Nice Hotel”

Hilton Garden Inn Times Square

Jun 5, 2008

This hotel was attractive, well-maintained, and very clean. We stayed 4 nights, and had no problems. The refrigerator and microwave were great additions. The staff was helpful, and somewhat friendly. The location was very close to broadway theatres, restaurants, and shops. Times Square was a fun place to visit, however, very crowded, noisy, and a bit dirty. The fact that the hotel was a block away from Times Square was definitely a plus! If you are a light sleeper, you will want to request a higher floor because of the subway.
