“This hotel saved our stay!”

We had booked another New York hotel as part of East Coast tour of Boston, New York and Washington.

The hotel we had originally booked was so awful we didn't bother unpacking our suitcases. After ringing around and internet searches we settled on the Garden Inn Times Square.

I know these are corporate hotels - but compared to our first hotel it was paradise! Great location, great staff, great room and the attached French Bistro served great food.

Checking in to this hotel ensured we had a great trip to NY and for all the right reasons.

“A Perfect 10!”

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly & accommodating. We requested & received a corner room, and it was was huge - enough space for a king bed, sitting area, roll away bed; plus the desk, TV credenza & bag stand.
The location is ideal - just a short 1 block walk to Times Square, convenient to restaurants, drug stores, Starbucks & the Subway. We'll definitely stay here again.

Lovely hotel!
The location is fab - near enough to all the attractions but not so that near you've got 1001 people rushing passed the hotel entrance...
The staff are friendly, although the conceirge weren't always as helpful as we'd hope - it might be worth just asking shop assistants ect whilst you're out and about for advice - the guy in Levi's told us to go shopping in Soho, and we wouldn't have found out about it otherwise!
The room was fine - we got the 14th floor which I suppose was a lot quieter than the lower floors... Try and get a high floor as 8th Ave does have a lot of traffic (inc a fire station next door!)
Some people have commented that the decor 'is a bit tired'. It's true - it's not totally up-to-date but it's more than fine. If you're going to worry about things like that - maybe New York isn't the city for you! You shouldn't be sitting in your hotel room - you should be out exploring!!!
The shop downstairs (the Pantry in the lobby) did stock drinks etc and the deli across the road is fine for pizza slices etc.
Highly recommend the restaurant next door - Pigaelle - served great breakfasts and the staff were v friendly. Best cup of tea we found in NYC!
50th Street subway just opposite the hotel very handy. We got to Brooklyn within 20 minutes...

Highly recommend this gotel :)

Second Thanksgiving stay at Times Square HGI.
Yes get a higher floor if you can, NYC is a noisy city.
Room clean, comfortable, well kept. Staff was VERY accomodating.
On the breakfast plan, ate next door at Pigalle. Food was good, servers RUN- they are very busy. One block off Times Square, ten minute walk to Rockefeller center, 5th ave. Twenty minute walk to central park.
