We had stayed at the Inn New York City before in January, and it was such a pleasant experience that we had only one choice for our return visit on our honeymoon! We stayed in the Vermont Suite both times, and even though the price is higher than most other New York hotels, you have to consider what you're getting at the price.
First off, the staff here makes you feel as if you're priority #1. You need any help or recommendations? One phone call handles everything. You are greeted personally upon your arrival, and your luggage and needs are immediately attended to. The kitchen is always stocked with yummy snacks, and there's complimentary wine/cheese/refreshments in the fridge. Need laundry done on your trip? Just put it in the laundry bag and everything is returned cleaned and folded that evening. You really can't beat the service!
The location is fantastic. It's away from the Times Square chaos, yet close enough to get there in minutes. You're next to a major subway station. It's a long city block away. 4 blocks to Central Park. We ended up purchasing a one week subway pass and the entire city was at our disposal.
The Vermont Suite is simply wonderful. The main floor has a roomy living room area and kitchen. Nice furnishings and a comfy leather sofa which has a bed if you need it. Down a narrow spiral staircase is the bedroom. In the heat of a New York summer, it was always comfortably cool down there. The size of this suite is 3-4 times what you'd get at a Times Square hotel. Complimentary bath robes, high end toiletries, and free wireless internet access are all provided. What more could you want in your stay?
If you're in the city, but want a more relaxed feel, you just HAVE to stay here. We look forward to coming back during our next trip to the big apple!
