My friend who lives in NYC recommended this hotel. It was my first visit to the big apple, so I naturally had high expectations. This hotel certainly lived up to them! Staff members were friendly and helpful, but I can understand how individuals would classify this environment as a bit over the top (stuffy).
The decor is modern and the hotel is centrally located in the Meat Packing district. We were pleasantly surprised with the close proximity of fantastic restaurants, clubs, and bars. You don't need a cab on the weekends for going out! If you prefer to use the metro, the A, C, and E lines are one block away.
We stayed on the 11th floor with a fantastic view of the city. The best is honestly the most comfortable ever! It's also nice that they provide guests with free in-room Wi-FI. Breakfast at Ono was included with our room, which was great! The swimming pool is a bit small, but the view is so amazing... it's nice just to sun bathe and people watch. The G Lounge is also fun, but crowded. After presenting my room card, I was treated completely different by the doormen and "bouncers." I think that this hotel should be avoided by individuals with families and older couples as it transitions to a night club by 930/10 PM. Otherwise it's a great choice for singles and the younger crowd.... but a bit expensive.
