We just returned from a weekend in New York City and were so enthusastic about this hotel that I just have to recommend it to you. My husband and I are selective about where we stay and search for fairly priced hotels, did I mention that we are both former New Yorkers. This was our first visit to a hotel in the World Trade Center area. This hotel is still new. Accommodations were spacious, very comfortable with contemporary styling. Although making up in the bathroom would have been easier with an expanding makeup mirror attached to the nearby wall for close-ups, the lighting in the bathroom is fine for shaving and other grooming. This comment is minimized by the pluses for this hotel. The price-included full breakfast is served in a restaurant atmosphere with chefs preparing omelets to order. Everyone greets you with a smile and an offer to assist you: the bellman outside the front door, the hotel's front desk, the breakfast staff and room service. And the view of the Hudson River - beautiful! Taxis were always waiting and the train is a block away. We're definitely looking forward to our next stay.

“Very nice hotel”

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night before we left on a cruise out of New York. The staff were very helpful and the room was quite large with a couch, dining table/chairs and a kitchen area with sink, fridge and microwave. The bedding was very good and the bed was comfortable. The room was very clean and there was a TV in the bedroom and the living area. The room rate included a full buffet breakfast which was nice. I would recommend this hotel as it was close to the cruise terminal and downtown Manhattan.

Complimentary cooked to order breakfast – full hot buffet. Excellent food selections. There are facilities to take a bagel, muffin or coffee back to your room after break. Breakfast staff are great and you look forward every morning to their greeting. The chefs go out of their way to cook what you want.

Of an evening there are free cocktails from 5:30pm-7:30pm plus a small selection of cocktail food – buffet style.

There is complimentary internet in the business center and downstairs near the reception area. Reasonable price laundry facilities/

Comfortable but small sized beds. Pull out sofa bed in lounge are. Full dining table with chairs. Large, deep sink in living area, with coffee making facilities on bench.

There is a front entrance to the hotel and a rear entrance. With a bagel store and cinema downstairs, there’s also a Mexican bar for drinks and food. Large atrium area.

The hotel is close to the World Trade Center site. There is a lot of work going on at the WTC site and other buildings around the hotel, you don’t hear anything though. The closest subway station is a couple of blocks away near the Century 21 store.

You’re not missing out on anything by being downtown. We loved it!

I stayed in the Embassy Suites from December 29, 2007 to January 2nd, 2008 and loved every moment of my trip. Check-in was easy and the service was great. Complimentary full breakfast and the manager's reception was full of options and with friendly staff. The rooms are big and comfortable. Everything is near and if not, the nearest subway station will make it close to you. The hotel also has vehicles avaible to take you somewhere if you don't want to use the subway or a taxi.
We were able to get late check out with out an additional charge.

“Take home a bed bug or two ...”

Embassy Suites Hotel New York City

We stayed at the Embassy Suites on Dec. 23rd for one night. We had a king suite that appeared clean and fresh. We enjoyed our stay and planned to return in a few months. Unfortunately, we apparently carried bed bugs back home in our suitcases, as we are now dealing with an outbreak at home. As the Embassy Suites was our only hotel stay in the past several months, we can only assume that the room and/or luggage storage area had bed bugs. A few days after our stay, I'm experiencing multiple bites at night and we've even found two bugs on the bed. Long story short, our great rate at the Embassy Suites is going to cost us dearly in extermination fees, sleep loss and increased anxiety. Two things I've learned through this process: Don't bring your own pillow to a hotel, and empty your suitcase outside of the house on returning from a hotel stay.
