“Great experience, I will definitely stay there again!!”

I stayed in the Embassy Suites from December 29, 2007 to January 2nd, 2008 and loved every moment of my trip. Check-in was easy and the service was great. Complimentary full breakfast and the manager's reception was full of options and with friendly staff. The rooms are big and comfortable. Everything is near and if not, the nearest subway station will make it close to you. The hotel also has vehicles avaible to take you somewhere if you don't want to use the subway or a taxi.
We were able to get late check out with out an additional charge.

“Take home a bed bug or two ...”

Embassy Suites Hotel New York City

We stayed at the Embassy Suites on Dec. 23rd for one night. We had a king suite that appeared clean and fresh. We enjoyed our stay and planned to return in a few months. Unfortunately, we apparently carried bed bugs back home in our suitcases, as we are now dealing with an outbreak at home. As the Embassy Suites was our only hotel stay in the past several months, we can only assume that the room and/or luggage storage area had bed bugs. A few days after our stay, I'm experiencing multiple bites at night and we've even found two bugs on the bed. Long story short, our great rate at the Embassy Suites is going to cost us dearly in extermination fees, sleep loss and increased anxiety. Two things I've learned through this process: Don't bring your own pillow to a hotel, and empty your suitcase outside of the house on returning from a hotel stay.

“Disappointed for family trip”

Embassy Suites Hotel New York City

Based on the positive reviews, we selected the Embassy Suites for our family trip. I thought that this all suite hotel in lower Manhattan would be perfect for a large family-- IT WAS NOT. Although the two suites were clean, well-decorated and of good size, there are better selections available for family traveling to NYC. I looked forward to Embassy Suites features of microwave and refrigerator however, only paid Mini-bar was available. Yes, there was high speed internet available throughout the hotel but it cost additional $9.99 per day. Complimentary cooked to order breakfast unavailable because of long lines (there were only two lines into breakfast area-one for cooked to order and other for prepared items). Standing in very long line with frustrated, hungry children is not my idea of fun. We ended up going elsewhere and paying for breakfast. After breakfast issue, we we left our room around 11:00 a.m. Our room was never cleaned. Last but not least, is the lack of customer service. We asked for directions for subway to theater district. We were given a map and directions. However, when we returned from theater, the subway location was closed so we ended up at another subway stop. I am not familiar with lower Manhattan area. I called the hotel three times asking for assistance to find our way back to the hotel. Each time, I was put on hold. My battery went dead so we wandered through the streets because the map that we were given didn't show N. End street. Finally, we found a Marriott hotel and they provided directions back to our hotel.

Nice hotel. Room is nice and big plus definite advantage having a separate living room area. We got it for a really good rate and couldn't fault it for price we paid. Breakfast is excellent. Theres also a really nice Mexican restaurant /bar in the complex with great happy hour deals midweek. Location is totaly dead though nighttime at w-end so you need to take subway to livelier places.

“Great Manhattan Hotel!”

Embassy Suites Hotel New York City

We booked through Hotwire, so we weren't sure of the location or the hotel, but we got a really good rate for NYC. The hotel was pretty far downtown, but valet parking was convenient and the subway was really close.

The room was spacious and very comfortable, and the fridge and "kitchen" sink were handy. The breakfast was outstanding--a huge selection of pastries, juice, fruit, etc. AND omelets and pancakes (choc chip!) made to order! If you wait til the end of breakfast, it's a lot harder to find seating, so try to wake up a little earlier. Otherwise, you could just take some food back up to your room. The mgr's reception was also great, with 2 free drinks per person and a nice array of snack food.

I have no complaints about this hotel except the weak wireless signal in my room. For the most part, service was friendly and prompt. I would definitely stay here again.
