Based on the positive reviews, we selected the Embassy Suites for our family trip. I thought that this all suite hotel in lower Manhattan would be perfect for a large family-- IT WAS NOT. Although the two suites were clean, well-decorated and of good size, there are better selections available for family traveling to NYC. I looked forward to Embassy Suites features of microwave and refrigerator however, only paid Mini-bar was available. Yes, there was high speed internet available throughout the hotel but it cost additional $9.99 per day. Complimentary cooked to order breakfast unavailable because of long lines (there were only two lines into breakfast area-one for cooked to order and other for prepared items). Standing in very long line with frustrated, hungry children is not my idea of fun. We ended up going elsewhere and paying for breakfast. After breakfast issue, we we left our room around 11:00 a.m. Our room was never cleaned. Last but not least, is the lack of customer service. We asked for directions for subway to theater district. We were given a map and directions. However, when we returned from theater, the subway location was closed so we ended up at another subway stop. I am not familiar with lower Manhattan area. I called the hotel three times asking for assistance to find our way back to the hotel. Each time, I was put on hold. My battery went dead so we wandered through the streets because the map that we were given didn't show N. End street. Finally, we found a Marriott hotel and they provided directions back to our hotel.
