“Great Hotel, Great Price!”

Doubletree Club Boston Bayside

4 of 5 stars
Massachusetts
Jul 16, 2008

I only paid $129/night to stay at this hotel and it was well worth it! The room and bathroom was clean and comfortable, and the bed was so comfortable! Although there is no restaurant hotel nor room service, there is an Au Bon Pain located in the hotel as well as a bar. The Staff was always helpful and friendly, and we were greeted with warm chocolate chip cookies (with nuts!). There is a $10 parking charge, but that's not so unreasonable in Boston. It was okay though, as they let us keep the car there for the day after check out. The T is only a short walk away, so it's very convenient. My only complaint is that the hotel leads you to believe the exercise facility is in the hotel, when in reality you have to take the train over to UMass to use it. But it was really a great stay.

“Can't Complain”

Doubletree Club Boston Bayside

4 of 5 stars
Portland, Maine
Jul 12, 2008

The Doubletree Club is easy enough to use as a base when you're in Boston- it's on the Red Line T, from the station its only a 2 or 3 minute walk to the hotel. We had a great rate for our stay and really couldn't find anything to complain about. As we waited to check in we were asked by a staff member if we needed any help with restaurant choices, and when we later approached him he seemed very vague and couldn't really give us anything to go on, which we thought was a bit odd since he had come up to us first, but it was no big deal in the long run. Our room was exactly that- it was clean, big enough for three of us, and nothing was broken. I'd suggest that if you were looking for something upscale to head closer into the city but for the price (I've stayed at some pricey places ($400+ /night) right in the middle of the city) it really couldn't be beat for us. As others have mentioned, there is an Au Bon Pain off the lobby which is a nice option in the morning. All in all, if we returned to Boston and were just looking for a clean and comfortable place to sleep at night, we would certainly not hesitate to book here again.

“Great hotel for the price!”

Doubletree Club Boston Bayside

5 of 5 stars
San Francisco, CA
Jul 10, 2008

Nice rooms, that were clean and spacious. In room coffee maker & hairdryer and very big, soft towels. They had a friendly and helpfull staff. The hotel is a bit outside of downtown Boston but is a very short walk to the transit station and it's very simple to catch a train that takes you downtown in about 15 mins. We were there to go to two Red Sox games an it was an easy commute to get there by transit. We didn't have time to explore the beach next to the hotel while we were there, but you could see that it was a short walk to the shoreline from the hotel. The hotel does have a restarant open during 'normal' meal times' and for after hours snacks they have takeout menus available at the front desk where you can call a few places nearby (Italian, Chinese & Japanese) for delivery direct to your room up until 1am. We ordered some hot sub sandwiches one night at midnight - quite tasty! The Doubletree Club was an extremely pleasant surprise. I would definitely go back on my next trip to Boston.

“Great Location, Great Price....”

Doubletree Club Boston Bayside

Jul 6, 2008

We stayed at this hotel over the 4th of July weekend. We arrived approx. 30 minutes before the check in time and were quickly processed and allowed to check in. We recieved freshly baked cookies and were on our way within 3-4 mintues.

Our hotel room was clean and very large. The bed was amazing and the view from our regular (king size, online price, non smoking) room was great. Overlooking the expo parking lot meant nothing as just beyond that were the bay and beach.

House keeping was very friendly and the night security and workers were very helpful.

Some things to keep in mind for this hotel:

Internet, you have to pay per night if you want it, though there are computers in the lobby which I think are free to use.

Take the T- don't drive. Parking is 10 dollars which isn't worth it when you can take the train, bus or plane to the t which is certainly within walking distance. Don't want to walk? call and reserve the shuttle which I think is free.

The REDLINE is within walking distance (about 5 minutes, you can see the hotel from the t when you get on the mini sky walk which brings you to the street).

They say the doors are locked after 11, I didn't see where they were. I saw the sign, but they were open.

BRING FOOD. The food in the cafe is expensive and not amazing and the hotel lacks vending machines. We ate out in Boston everynight which is only a 10-15 minute ride on the T so it wasn't an issue for us.

I would recommend this hotel (as long as you don't book it full the weekend I want to go again ;-) )... It is a great hotel away from the city, with a quick well lighted walk to the T and a quick ride in.

I've had bad luck in Boston before with hotels but this one certainly is a winner. A diner, a few upgrades with the fees and possibly a pool and this would be a multi star hotel that you couldn't get for the price you can now (well, taking location into consideration as well).

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — T-STATION is very close, very good bed, large room.
    • Disliked — Internet fee, parking fee (though we didn't need either) and lack of food on site or in the area.

“Jessica at the Front Desk Was Wonderful!”

Doubletree Club Boston Bayside

4 of 5 stars
Dover, New Hampshire
Jun 28, 2008

A friend of mine and I had been planning this trip for a few months as we had tickets to see Stevie Nicks in concert at the Bank of America Pavillion. We had printed MapQuest directions but still could not find the hotel. We called the Double Tree and Jessica gave great directions. It only took us 10 minutes to find the hotel. She was also very plesant at check-in. Another young woman working the front desk was not quite as pleasant. Unfortunately, she came across as being "bothered" to have to wait on customers and was busy talking with a "friend" who stood in front of customers at the front desk. Jessica was very professional and told us about everything the hotel offerred and gave us room keys very promptly. The lobby is huge but the bar they have is very small. It is tucked away in a tiny corner and the bartender made very weak drinks. It was still a nice touch after a long day. Au Bon Pain is located in the lobby and has nice foods, but it is not open late in the evening. The hotel also has an ATM machine and business center which is nice. The hotel is very close to the red line T. It only takes about 10 minutes to get to Downtown Crossing. Jessica also was nice enough to call us a taxi to the Bank of America Pavillion. The price was close to $10. I would highly recommend staying here.

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — I liked the proximity to the red line T and the friendliness of Jessica
    • Disliked — The least thing I liked was the size of the bar
