“Very well priced and pleasant hotel”

This was easily the cheapest hotel we could find that was in Boston central (well, Back Bay but not far from the centre). A short walk to the underground it was very very well positioned for a budget hotel. We were given a huge room which was a little bland but was nevertheless clean and well maintained. There was no gym but the YMCA was a short walk away and was cheap with a day rate. This was a very reasonable hotel in every way and we were very pleased with it as a good budget experience. The receptionists were really welcoming and friendly too.

“great hotel, location, and price!”

Midtown Hotel

I did a lot of checking when trying to find a hotel in Boston. The Midtown had the best price, and I received a AAA discount. Also, parking at any hotel is extremely expensive ($35.00 a night on average). The Midtown had the best price at $14.00 per night in a safe underground location right below the hotel. We didn't need use the car once!! Location of the Midtown was very good. We weren't right in the center of the city, but were close to many things. We saw a Red Sox game at Fenway and were within walking distance. We were very close to the Prudential Center where there is a mall and lots of shops and stores and restaurants. Also, very close to the subway, which we took to the North End for a fabulous dinner. There is a great little restaurant next door called Thorton's where we had breakfast twice. The staff at the hotel was friendly and accomodating. Although the hotel is a little on the older side, our king size room had new furniture and a very comfortable bed. The room was pretty big. Our room did face the main road (Huntington Ave.), but at night it was quiet and we did not hear any street noise. There was even a concierge who we asked a lot of questions to and we were given great advice. We even booked a trolley tour at a discounted price that picked you up one block from the hotel and looped around the entire city. It was great. All in all, I'd say this hotel is definetely worthwhile to stay at. It offers a great price and location. It's not as fancy as a Hilton or Radisson may be, but it was clean, comfortable and affordable. Recommended with flying colors!!!

“Great Overall Value”

Midtown Hotel

Jul 28, 2007

Our daughter is entering Northeastern U (NEU) as a freshman in September 07 so my wife, daughter and I stayed at the Midtown Hotel in July for NEU orientation. This hotel is two blocks from Northeastern.

I have written and read many Trip Advisor reviews and the common thread I have found is that if a person perceives they received “good value” for their money, they are generally satisfied.

“Good Value” characterizes the Midtown. At every step we received a higher level of service, a cleaner larger room, higher level of attention from staff, and better overall location then we expected. For what we paid, which was less then half the price of the major chain/boutique hotels within ¼ mile of this hotel, we were very satisfied.

That said, I would be hesitant to recommend this hotel whole hearted to a friend because it is a some what Spartan hotel. On the other hand, we quickly tried to get a room in this hotel for parent’s weekend in October and it was sold out. So we certainly would consider this hotel again—definitely---as well as many others it seems.

The surroundings are safe, very easy walk to the Pru Center, Newberry, longer but very doable walk to Fenway, and for Northeastern, can’t be beat. Car parking is directly below the hotel for an additional $14/night. Here are many, many shops and eateries in the locale.

If I were doing a comparison between this hotel and a national chain I would compare it to a well run Days Inn.

If you can get a room in the Midtown Hotel, give it a try----don’t expect the Ritz, or the lobby glitz of a Marriott or Hyatt, but you will be happy with your stay.

“Problems, But I'd Stay There Again”

Midtown Hotel

My family (two adults and two teenage boys) stayed at the Midtown Hotel for two nights and had a very enjoyable stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had to report two problems with our room (TV remote didn't work and air conditioner condensation drip) and both were handled quickly and efficiently by a friendly maintenance man. The Midtown is located within easy walking distance to the Prudential Center, Copley Place, and subway stations. Our purpose was to tour the Freedom Trail and found that the Midtown Hotel provided a good balance between cost, parking, and location. I'd definitely stay there again.

“Great Hotel”

My daughter and I checked in at the Midtown Hotel on June the 21st 2007 for 4 nights. We were met at the door by a porter who carried our luggage to the reception and waited while we checked in. We had booked a single room each and were amazed, when we saw the size of them. My daughters was a double room and mine was a king sized room.

The rooms were spotless as was the rest of the hotel. The area is lovely and within walking distance to the Prudential Tower and Boston Common, where you can follow the Freedom Trail to all the other attractions.

We would definately stay at this hotel again, I cannot find fault with it. The same goes for the Hotel staff, who were friendly and helpful. Well done to the Midtown Hotel.
