“Great Location”

Radisson Hotel Boston

Oct 4, 2007

The room was excellent and the bathroom was amazing! had a great room with a view of the john hanncock centre with a balcony to get some fresh air. Very clean - modern and smart.

The hotel is loacted well within the city - close to everything and the bar downstairs was handy if you didn't feel like venturing out.

Only downside was some of the staff were abit snotty - esp the guys at the door and that handle the luggage. Quite rude and even blanked us when we asked if they could call us a taxi. Not very nice or professional. Luckily it didn't ruin the experience.

“Great location, overall good but bed comfort could be improved”

Radisson Hotel Boston

4 of 5 stars
Exton, PA

I was there for a conference. The location is excellent - in the heart of Boston. Overall it is a good, clean hotel. The beds have the "select number" system for making them softer or firmer. I did not particularly liked this because it feels somewhat like an inflatable matress. I prefer the regular pillow top mattersses other hotels use. Also, the cover was a heavy down comforter which was too hot even when I lowered the A/C to 60. There was no thin blanket.
Wireless intenet connection was very, very slow - almost unusable.

“Handy location. Not a bad hotel for the money”

Radisson Hotel Boston

Stayed here as a family for 5 nights. Room was a fair size and clean. Balcony was a bonus - great to see the city views, particularly at night when everything was lit up. The location was within walking distance of everything we needed and easy access to T for longer trips.
Pool area was a disappointment - One of our main reasons for choosing this hotel was the pool as our son loves swimming but a refurb is going on and the pool heating was off so the pool was too cold to go in. We weren't informed of this when booking or on check in.
We didn't use the restaurant so can't comment on that. Plenty of restaurants across the street or within easy walking. Overall, not bad for the money.

“Rude and Insincere Staff”

Radisson Hotel Boston

Sep 9, 2007

I am writing to let other travelers know of my bad experience with The Radisson in Boston. After booking 3 rooms on Priceline.com, there was a huge mix up upon check -in. My friend was trying to be funny and booked 3 rooms and using funny alias's as our last names. Upon check-in, we realized that this going to be a problem. We take full responsiblity for causing a headache for the front desk but it was how they handled the situation that started our stay with The Radisson off on the wrong foot.
First of all, there were 5 of us in our group, each of us in our 40's, and all of us work in the hospitality industry. We have the upmost respect for anyone that works in the industry and were definitely not trying to be difficult. The front desk was rude, condescending and insincere in trying to resolve the problem. We nicely offered them the option that if this situation is going to be a major problem we would just cancel the reservations and find another hotel. (No hard feelings, we would just move on) The five of us could not be more laid back. The response we got from the Front Desk," Fine, but you still have to pay for the rooms because they were booked on Priceline.com." They could not have cared less about trying to resolve the problem. Finally, we contacted Priceline.com and had a letter faxed over and eventually we were able to head to our rooms.
Even after all of this headache, we chalked it up to the girl at the front desk having a bad day! No problem, we are in Boston to enjoy ourselves, not let some inadequate staff member ruin our weekend. After returning from a nice dinner and a night on the town in beautiful Boston, we were back at the hotel and taking the elevator up to our rooms. We were joking in a very nice way about not wanting to upset the front desk staff member. On the elevator with us was an employee of the hotel. Once we stepped out of the elevator and headed down the hallway, this employee actually stepped out of the elevator and started making sarcastic comments to us!! We were absolutely stunned by the lack of professionalism of this staff.
The next day, four of us checked out and headed out of town. About 45 minutes later, we were trying to call our friend that stayed behind and realized that his cell phone was turned off. So, we called the hotel and asked to be connected to his room. They had no listing for our friend! So, we told them the room number and explained that we checked out about an hour ago. After being on the phone with them for about 3-4 minutes, they told us that he checked out. About 45 minutes later, our friend calls us from the hotel lobby telling us that he is getting ready to check out of the hotel. We told him that we had been trying to get in touch with him but the front desk told us that he had checked out already!! (Which he didn't!!) So then we figured, maybe we called "the wrong" Radisson. So, we call back and ask ed, "Is this The Radisson on such and such street?" They actually gave us attitude over the phone for asking for their location!!!!!!!!!!
I am not making any of this up!!!!! That is when all of us had enough of this miserable staff at The Radisson. I have never written a letter of complaint to any hotel, restaurant, or any other type of service industry business. I sent an e-mail to The Radisson explaining my dissatifaction with my stay and received this cookie cutter letter of an apology mostly defending "the normal" behavior of this staff. After giving the manager all of the information that she needed to do her "investigation", I never heard from her again!!! Customer Service at it 's finest!!! I will never frequent a Radisson again.

“Great Hotel, Great Location”

Excellent value and excellent hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. This hotel is in the Theater District and only a few blocks from the Freedom Trail, Boston Commons, and several subway stations. You can get a 7 day pass for $15, walk two blocks and be anywhere in the city in 5 minutes, including Harvard, Fenway Park , Boston Harbor, and other tourist destinations. The hotel rooms have been updated, the pool was clean, and meals in the hotel excellent. I would recommend this Radisson for singles, couples or families.
