My husband and I stayed 2 nights in this hotel. The location is great; just a few steps to the subway stop, the Beacon Hill shops and restaurants, and Boston Common.
The staff was polite and helpful; the concierge gave me several good recommendations for dinner.
They give you a glass of champagne when you check in and if you ever get a craving for an apple during your stay, you can grab one in the lobby as well.
The building itself was very interesting (the hotel used to be a jail) and the lobby was very pretty and a good place to just hang out with a drink.
Our room was spotless, and the bed was so comfortable! I loved the bath products and big fluffy bath towels. They even give you slippers.
In the evenings, sometime between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. the housekeeping staff brings a coffee pot with coffee and tea that you can make, turns down the bed, and puts turns on the TV with soothing nature images. They also leave the lights on. I thought this was a nice touch, but kind of unnecessary and wasteful. I found it to be at odds with their conservation policy of asking us to reuse towels and only changing bed linens every 3 days.
The drinks at the bar were way too expensive. Nothing below $13. A sip of wine (about the amount you would get at a winery during a tasting) was around $7 and a full glass was about $14 and up!!
