“Awesome experience”

Stayed here with my mother for two nights in April. Awesome experience. The staff, from the housekeeper to the concierge, were so polite, accomodating and helpful. The hotel itself is beautiful, the room was very cozy and the beds were extremely comfortable. They had a very nice turndown service at night, and they left the TV on a soft classical station. We ate at Clink for breakfast and Scampo for dinner and both were excellent, as was the service. We loved this hotel, felt like a celebrity from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. Will most definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Boston!

“Good Experience”

Liberty Hotel

The service was by far excellent. It was a little pricey but decent for the Boston area. This is definitely one of those hotels where you never have to touch a door, every door is opened for you by staff. The champagne at check-in was very nice. My only complaint was the attitude of the staff in the evening. The bar becomes the main concern of the hotel around 5 pm. The staff screamed at me and shook me on the shoulder when I was dropped off by relatives after dinner at the hotel because their restaurant clientel couldn't get into the parking lot the maybe 30 seconds it took for me to be dropped off.
The music was very loud but could not be heard in the room - thank god.
The female concierge was wonderful. She was very resourceful and insightful. She recommended us eat at Artu which was a very good, quaint family restaurant with some of the best service and food I've ever experienced.
Overall, I would stay again, but preferably when the hype of the bar/restaurant has gone down.

“Beautiful Building, Horrible Service”

Liberty Hotel

We stayed at this hotel in March It is a converted jail, and we felt like we were in jail after 3 days. First, one freezing cold day, they did some type of evaluation of the ventilation system. No power, all the windows wide open, no elevators -- we stayed in the lobby for 2 hrs shivering. This should have been done prior to opening in January, not while paying guests were "stuck" right at dinner time. They charged daily - $10 per day - for the wireless, but it only worked a few hours total. No one in the hotel could tell us how to connect. The business center was totally down as well. The TV did not work the entire time we were there -- once we thought it was working, ordered a pay for view and it went out. We asked for consideration on the bill but were flatly and rudely turned down. The food in the restaurant, Clink, was overpriced and not very good. We knew they were new, so we tried to give them another chance, (it is very close to relatives in Boston) but this too was a disaster. We have stayed all over the world and this was one of the worst -- too bad, as it could have potential but the management is horrible.

“Amazing Unique Hip Experience”

Liberty Hotel

5 of 5 stars
Los Angeles, CA
Mar 27, 2008

This is hip at its hippest! When we pulled up to the Liberty Hotel, I thought "wow - this is going to be a place I will never forget". And it turns out I was right.

Despite the fact that it was freezing outside, the minute we pulled up, a gentleman opened our car doors and helped us with our luggage. Once we went inside, we were greeted by one of the most amazing hotel lobbies you will ever see. Words cannot describe how unique the lobby is, so I am not even going to try. But take my word for it - it's an architectural wonder. Open and airy yet cozy and chic. Just beautiful. And because it was happy hour on a Friday, people were arriving to have drinks in the hotel's lobby bar. Needless to say, it was a bit crowded because this hotel is definitely a hot spot in Boston. Once we checked in (which, by the way, was very easy and quick), we went to our room and were amazed at how chic and cozy it was. A thick duvet on the bed was soft and inviting, as was the sunk-in bathtub and large flat screen television. This is definitely a room one could just lounge in for a day or two.

After checking in, we went to the lobby for a drink. By this time, it was incredibly crowded in the lobby and all the tables were taken. We paid a premium for 1 glass of champagne ($25) but it was tasty!

Then we went exploring in Boston! The great thing is that there is a subway stop directly next to the hotel. From there, you can get to central boston, or even take it to the JFK museum!

In all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The stay was nice, the hotel was amazing and the location was wonderful! I would recommend this hotel to young people and those who like chic and hip!

“Excellent Stay At The Liberty”

Liberty Hotel

Had a fabulous stay at the Liberty Hotel. The service was impeccable. Our room was clean and comfortable. The beds were extremely soft. The theme of the hotel is also very interesting; lobby is very pleasing to the eye.
At night the hotel is packed with attractive people going to Aura. The bar and restaurant get crowded so this hotel might not be a good place for people with small kids.
Hotel location is close to Boston attractions but be prepared to pay $40 a night to park your car. For those who want to save skip the car and take the T which is just across the street.
Breakfast is also very expensive and not that good. Au Bon Pain is 3-4 blocks away which is way more affordable.
