The writer who described this place as a rehab facility and the guests as "inmates" was right on the money. I concur with everything he said. The only thing I can add is the terrible noise: people slamming doors and yelling or talking loud in the halls all night, with no consideration at all for others (paper-thin thin walls and doors with absolutely no sound-proofing). These people are not the kind you would ask to please be quiet. They just might not take your criticism of their manners graciously. Bring some sound-deadening earmuffs! Really. I had some, and they helped a lot. But still, they weren't enough. And avoid the bathrooms if you can. They might get cleaned occasionally, but there was no evidence of it. Yes, it is cheap alright, but you get what you pay for. As he said, the lobby is deceptive as to what you find upstairs. For the hardy and rock-bottom budgets only!

This is a homeless shelter that rents rooms. The main lobby is lavish, but once you get upstairs (3rd Floor) you have a locked mental ward and rehab client's rooms all around you. The men's shared bathroom should be condemned. Broken toilets and urinals are the majority. Toothless women "inmates" are even in-and-out of the men's bathrooms lookin for their "man". No phone, broken TV (no cable), thin, ripped sheets and stained pillows are provided. Heat and Air conditioning- not included. Why pay when you can check-in as a street bum and get the same enviroment and treatment for free.
