“A Great Place to Stay”

The Lenox Hotel

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in room 918, a standard room. It was a good size room with a decent size bathroom and a little walk-in dressing room.
There is a mini fridge with complimentary water, but no mini bar service or tea/coffee facilities.
The bed is very confortable, and the maid sets it up for you in the evening and leaves some peanut butter cookies...
The hotel is very well located, across the street from the Public Library and very close from the subway line.
We liked the Irish Pub, Solas. The food was very nice, but the service was a bit slow and not overly friendly.
We had a drink at the City Bar, where again the service was not as good as we expected ( I wouldn't call it "service with a smile").

“Location, Location, Location!”

You can't get a better location than where the Lenox is located. We could walk/take the train anywhere. Conveniently located in Copley Square, you are one block from Newbury Street, a 10 min. walk to the public gardens, and endless restaurants and bars.

The hotel itself was very nice, but pricey. I was expecting nicer rooms (especially the bathroom), but the location and excellent staff made up for it.

I would definitely stay here again (if I can get a better rate)!

“A Very Enjoyable Stay”

The Lenox Hotel

May 28, 2008

We recently spent five nights at the Lenox in one of their deluxe king rooms. The room itself was almost identical to the photo on their website, spacious and nicely furnished with a large LCD TV and CD player. The lobby was very elgant and the property as a whole had a classy feel. All the staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. Out of their bars/restaurants we only tried Solas their Irish bar but the food and drink were pretty good. A major plus of the Lenox is it's superb location, a huge amount of dining, drinking and shopping options are within a five minute walk of the hotel, as is the Copley T station. It also only took us twenty or so minutes walk to reach Fenway Park and about the same to the start of the Freedom Trail on Boston Common. We really couldn't find much at all to fault with the Lenox, coffee making facilites would have been nice but it's hardly a major minus. Overall a very enjoyable stay and we would certainly return both to Boston and the Lenox.

“Great hotel in Superb Location”

The Lenox Hotel

My wife and I stayed in the Lenox Hotel between Thursday May 15 and Sat May 17. We had a great experience. We would recommend this hotel to everyone visiting Boston.

Room
We had a double room on the 10th floor with two windows. The room is reasonable size in the Boston metro area. Not huge but big enough. It is nicely furnished. Room was super clean. The maid came to clean the room multiple times each day. They restock the bottle water, clean the bathroom and towels, and refresh the bed and bath robes. Free Wifi was available throughout the hotel. I believe that exercise facility was available also, but we did not use that.

Service
ALL the hotel works were very professional -- from bell boys to check-in counter to maid service. Always helpful and always smiling. The front desk was very efficient. We did not waited for long for anything. I am very happy that we were able to check in 7:30AM in the morning. That enable us to take a shower and have a full day to activities.

Location
The hotel is near the Back Bay Area in Boston. Near the Boston Public Library and the Green Line on the T (subway). The hotel is next to the Newbury Street shopping area, the Prudential Center shopping, Copley Place and the Duck Tour starting point. Boston Common, Faneuil Hall, Freedom Trail, Boston Harbor and Convention Center, and MIT can easily be reached via the T.

Transportation
We took the Silver Line, to the Red Line, to the Green Line on the T to the hotel. Easy, cheap and fast. No problem at all. We took the T everywhere and did not try taxi or bus.

“Great Location in a Great City”

The Lenox Hotel

May 11, 2008
2/2 found this review helpful

We stayed at the Lennox between the 5th and 10th April 08, On Arrival at the hotel we were met by very helpful reception staff.

Boston is a great city, we have been to NYC previously and we would return to Boston over New York. The locals, The scenary and the shopping are all superb. The visit to the top of the Prudential Tower is well worth a visit for spectacular views across the city.

As for the hotel, ideal situation, right next to the Copley subway which provides easy access to all of the city. The hotel in the main is fine, the room was very comfortable, the hotel is old and is showing some signs of this, most days we had an issue in the room and whilst not major every day when you have to ask reception to resolve problems it does get annoying, for example the air condition and heating failed to work each day, the shower had no hot water, the door key didnt work on a regular basis,

The hotel staff were very apologetic and resolved the problem very quicky only for the problems to return the following day.

Whilst annoying this would not stop us from visiting the hotel again, We hope to return to Boston later this year.
