Let's start off by saying, I am a travel agent and I book people in hotel rooms all day, everyday, and this hotel, I would recommend to any client. It is great for everyone, teenagers, children, getaways, basically anyone. It has live entertainment down at the bar downstairs it also has 2 restaurants you can choose from, room service until 11pm. Beautiful lobby, amazing staff, I do suggest when you go there if you want to use a phone to call back home - do not use the hotel phones, they obviously cost you more - dont use the payphones either you insert .25usd and then you get 1minute then asks you to insert 1.00 - best thing to do is get a phone card! you can get them at the gift shop right beside the lobby OR go to the 711. This hotel was great location downtown, never had to chase a taxi down. For the fajita lovers like myself, try the Fajita and Ritas its only about two blocks away it has the best fajitas and margaritas also it is dirt cheap I got fajitas and 2 margaritas and my friend got chicken quesadilla and 2 margaritas and our bill together was under 40.00usd which was the best!!! Also, when you are at the hotel you can get a complimentary upgrade to a business room which is well worth it - wonderful view of downtown boston, if your a shower person you will love this one - huge walk in shower with really hot water :) nothing but the best! For room service I wouldnt suggest it unless you have money it is really expensive. Just go to the front desk and ask them if they have menus for restaurants that are open during the night (after hours). Overall, ths is a great hotel for anyone, if you want to meet celebrities, this is the best way, lots of them stay at this hotel! Overall anyone who stays here will be impressed :) ENJOY!

“Great Hotel”

Hyatt Regency Boston

We stayed at the Hyatt Valentine's weekend. We had a corner suite on a higher floor. We loved our stay. Everyone was very nice and helpful. We forgot our toothpaste, and they sent up all different types of toiletries. The location was good because we could walk to all the sites, it's a very central location (although there is not much to see on the couple of streets surrounding the hotel). Close to shopping, not too far from the aquarium. Room Service was a little pricey, but the food was very good. The bed was extremely comfortable, and our room was always clean and tidy when we came back from sightseeing. Over all a great stay and a great hotel.

“An average experience”

I am a fan of the Hyatt Regency brand but this property is not among my favorites. Pros include price, great staff, and a very comfortable bed. Cons include location (the area is pretty desolate at night and it was difficult to find both taxis and good, nearby restaurants on the weekend - it is in the financial district so everything shuts down on weekends), rooms that showed wear and tear (particularly in the bathroom), and noise.

Truly, this hotel was one of the noisiest I have ever been in - slamming doors and the conversation of people in the hallways was easily heard in both rooms we were in - we ultimately had to change rooms from the 17th floor to the 20th floor due to noise but the change in volume was somewhat minimal. Be sure to ask for a higher floor if noise is an issue for you - frankly, I am not overly sensitive to hotel noise so the need to change rooms was an unfortunate development.

In the event I am again in Boston, I would stay again at the Marriot Copely Place (see prior review for this property). It was much more conveniently located with great shopping nearby and despite the number of guests it attracts, was far quieter.

“Great city - great hotel”

Hyatt Regency Boston

4 of 5 stars
Grand Island, NY

This past summer we had occasion to visit Boston just to get awat for a few days and do some sightseeing. This hotel is in a great location - within easy walking distance of the Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall, Boston Common, and some large department stores.

Our room, although pleasant, was fairly average.

The hotel staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly; the concierge was exceptional, and the doorman made us feel "at home" by welcoming us back from our daily walking trips.

The breakfast buffet was great, and the restaurant manager not only stopped by to see how we were doing, but took the time to give us written subway directions.

The only negative would be the parking situation: it was not very convenient and quite expensive - but I guess that's par-for-the course in the heart of an expensive Northeastern city.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at this Hyatt.

We took a risk and pricelined in Boston, with great results. This hotel was in a good location and had SUPER comfy beds. If you're like me and want a cheap but nice place, and spend most of your time outside the hotel or in the bed, this is a great hotel to be staying in.
