The St. Regis is a very well located hotel in the heart of San Francisco. The atmosphere at the hotel is quite intimate with the dark wood details and fire burning in the dim lobby. Service at the hotel was very good and rooms were nice.
Our room had big windows gazing over the city on the 16th floor. beautiful view in the night and wonderful light during the day. The super wide window sill was fun to sit on and enjoy the view. Overall the room was quite spacious and comfortable. Apparently all the rooms have a remote appliance used to control things like lighting, drapes (both roman and darkening), the phone etc. its located next to the bed though, I think I managed to call the front desk when I was half a sleep and trying to put a light on. The big widescreen TV was nice to watch, wi-fi connection was reasonably fast, though it should be at $15 a day.
the bathroom was quite spacious, though the shower located within the toilet area was very cold due to a very effective air vent above the toilet seat. A switch for this would be nice. the sliding glass door in the toilet was a bit over the top, it also left a nice gap through which I had a clear view to the room side. ranging from $500 to $1500, we didn't really care to try any of the champagne or rose pedal bubble baths but maybe someone will. A random thing I happened to pay attention to was the A/C in the hallways, it was extremely cold in there!
Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the St. Regis and I can't really think of anything to complain about except the chilly toilet and hallway. oh and the hallway carpets, whats up with those..? they look like a sack of coal was dragged there. well, it was a very nice and hip hotel with a good location and friendly service.
