We only had a single night stay at the Grand, but it was grand. We arrived late and the front desk staff was tied up with other visitors, but we were given undivided attention and courteous service when our turn came around.

Our rooms were spacious and two bedrooms shared a large bathroom. The rooms were clean and well appointed with period furniture. When I looked at the bed, I said no way is that comfortable. However complete with feather pillows, which I demand, the bed was comfortable and I had a great nights sleep as did our traveling companions.

Continental breakfast was solid and a bus load of folks was in the dining room at the same time, but there was plenty of room.

The hotel had plenty of parking and a covered portico to protect when raining, which it did.

Downtown is with perhaps a long walking distance with many shops and scads of restaurants of many different cuisines. The hotel had two three-ring notebooks filled with menus, a plus when choosing dinner locations.

Priced just right and one of the better choices in Bar Harbor.

A great bargin in a convenient location,walking distance to all downtown activities.It was very quiet and we were on the street level, in the front. BUT it was before "high" season starts.
While I'm sure there are more fancy breakfasts elsewhere, there was a variety of choices and we were able to get on our way to explore the shore path and more earlier in the day.
Also, many choices of great restaurants in walking distance.

My husband and I spent the Memorial Day weekend at the Bar Harbor Grande Hotel. The entire experience was positive and above and beyond. From arriving late on Friday evening and having the manager there to still greet us and offer us homemade baked goods to booking us a quaint restaurant for dinner on Saturday evening to giving us some hints and history about the area, everyone we dealt with was a pleasure. The hotel was quiet and even while there were many families there we did not hear any kids running up and down halls like at some other places the whole weekend. The continental breakfast was plentiful and replenished constantly and offers a bit more than just the typical juice, coffee and toast. The hotel is in a central location to walking around the cute town of Bar Harbor and you have restaurants on either side of you. While this was a taste of Bar Harbor and Acadia for the weekend, we will definitely be returning for a longer stay and will book the Bar Harbor Grande again.

This was the second time my husband and I stayed at the Bar Harbor Grand Hotel. Both times we have had immaculatly clean rooms. It is a beautiful and charming hotel and the staff is very pleasant. They also have a very nice continental breakfast. A wonderful hotel!!!
