We stayed at the Marriott Ko Olina for our Honeymoon. We were offered a preview offer for 7 days. The grounds were beautiful has plenty of adult Jacuzzi and has a separate kids area. We did use the BBQ pit area. The room itself we stayed in a one bedroom suite had full kitchen and bathroom. Since we were there for a timeshare we were expecting a long sales pitch luckily we were in and out in about 1 hour. If we visit again I would stay at the JW Marriott next door Lovely Hotel!!!

I have read the recent reviews posted by others. While I agree that the key situation (door and parking access is problematic) it is hardly a reason not to stay here. Regarding construction, yes, there is construction going on but that fact is well communicated and they do the best they can to keep it to reasonable hours. The third building will open in January of 2009 and construction will start on the fourth one shortly thereafter. There are other properties (not owned by Marriott) where construction will soon strat this and may in fact lessen the view from some units. But the real view is at the beach and not in a room. Regardng children, it's a timeshare resort so one should expect children. If they are "out of line" call the front desk. That has always worked for me. And yes, it's in the boonies about an hour and 15 minutes to downtown. That's another think I like about this place.

We stayed in a 1BR master suite on a 5-day preview package and it was well worth the cost. The unit was large, well maintained and clean, the resort grounds & pools are very nice, and the lagoons (although man-made) are beautiful and uncrowded. The service was excellent, from the first time we were greeted by the attendant who parked our car while we checked in, to the employee who printed out our boarding passes on our last night because I was having trouble with the online print service.

My main complaint is that they charge you for parking ($20/day), and a car is necessary due to the remote location. It's not like you're in the middle of a city and space/parking is at a premium. My second complaint is the lack of restaurants in the area. There are two onsite: Chucks which was horrible, and Kolohe's which was fine. There is a Roys at the golf course (which we didn't try) and some more upscale choices at the JW Marriott (walking distance along the lagoon path). The only places we could find in the nearby town of Kapolei were chains or fast food. There is also a Safeway and Longs which are good to stock up on supplies, especially if you want to cook.

A timeshare presentation was required for our package but it was very professional and lasted less than an hour. Our sales person did say that there is a plan for a shopping village with restaurants to be built at some point in the future. The new Disney property will offer alternatives as well, but ground has not even been broken yet. It will also create more crowds, but hopefully it won't ruin the atmosphere!

This is a nice place to stay. The view is not perfect and there is a lot of construction going on, but it was still comfortable. The bay areas were nice and the snorkling there was also pretty good. Walking along the beach during sunset was the best.
