“Great Resort Getaway”

Turtle Bay Resort

The wife and I just got back from a six night stay, which she had won on the Regis and Kelly show. We had a wonderful time. The resort was wonderful. A little worn in spots but with such a perfect location and great views, you wont even notice. SInce my wife was six months pregnant we were mostly limited to swiming and snorkeling but that was fine with us. We do however highly recommend the North Shore Shark Adventures. That was an absolute blast. All of our meals in the Palm Terrace were paid for by the show. The menu items are average at best, but the breakfast buffet cant be beat. As good as any I have ever had. You cant go wrong with all the great fresh fruit. Despite my efforts to try and bribe the front desk agent with a hundred dollar bill (hey it's worked before) to get us upgraded to a cottage room, we were very pleased with our sixth floor view in the east wing. With such gorgeous sunset views every night, you will hardly notice the rooftop below you. The agent let us choose either an ocean view sunset room or a view of the pool and mountains (with limited ocean view), but we decided on the ocean view and were not disappointed. I dont think there is a bad view in the whole place. The pool area was great, especially the waterslide. Tame enough for my pregnant wife but still very fun, nonetheless. Be sure and try the Mai-Tai's at the Hang Ten Bar by the pool. The best I have ever had. My wife was very envious, but that didnt stop her from taking the occasional sip here and there. Loved the parrots in the lobby. In fact when we left, we felt like we were leaving our babies behind. Very sweet and sometimes hillarious little buggers. All in all, one of the best trips of our lives. Course it doesnt hurt that airfare, hotels and meals were already paid for. Though we still managed to drop over $1500 on convertible, (a must), drinks, golf (Palmer Course now my number 3 favorite resort course of all time.. Right behind Pebble Beach and the White Whitch in Jamaica), off site meals, and the Shark Adventure.

“Loved Resort, Awful Beds”

Turtle Bay Resort

This is the perfect resort except for the beds. Even my children had complaints about how uncomfortable the beds are. The grounds are beautiful and the resort is nice. This was a relaxing paradise and would have been the best place I had ever stayed in if the beds were comfortable. The pool is lush and nice. there is a public beach at the resort but it felt more like a private beach. It was empty most days. We even saw a celebrity staying at the resort while we were there. He and his family were in the private condo houses at the resort, I am sure they had better beds. The staff at the resort were nice and helpful. This was a great place to stay away from the hustle and bustle in Waikiki beach. We loved it here. If you keep your doors open at night you can hear the waves. The view from our balcony was the best view we have ever had. Great hotel, just replace the beds.

“Ok”

We had just one night here. Lovely location, all rooms have balconies w/ ocean views. Nice dinner at '21' - would have preferred to try Ola's but it wasn't listed in the hotel's directory so we thought it was gone!
Perhaps this is a good place if you surf or golf, but I was surprised at how quiet it all was. The lobby is big and empty, the rooms are big and empty. The directory lists the resort attractions as if they were sites at some other location - nothing seems to be going on save for the pool (rather plain) and beach (which is, as all HI beaches, public) so I'm not sure why anyone would stay - other than to get away from Wakaki if Oahu is the only island you are visiting.
We weren't there on a weekend - when you can spend more money and attend a luau - but still . . . offer something. Oh - and you'll pay for everyTHING - including 3.50 for the bottle of water in your room!

“A Beautiful Honeymoon”

Turtle Bay Resort

5 of 5 stars

Turtle Bay Resort is worth every penny. My husband and I stayed there for our honeymoon and it was relaxing and beautiful. Every room has an ocean view, and our particular room looked out over the beach. The Resort includes two golf courses (which my husband enjoyed) and a day spa (which I would highly recommend). The service is efficient and friendly. If I had one complaint, it was the food. Our meals were adequate, but not excellent (despite a resort price tag). There are places in the north shore towns that are not bad, but you need a car to reach them. The drinks, however, are excellent. Also, the snorkeling off the hotel's private beach is superb. A wonderful getaway.

“Presidential suite”

Turtle Bay Resort

Jul 14, 2008

I am a loal that lives here on Oahu and Turtle Bay is one of the only hotels that gives you an experince outside of the city (Waikiki), Waikiki is indeed fast paced and isn't as laid back as Turtle Bay Resort.

We stayed here during the weekend. We rented out the Presidential Suite for 2 nights to host a 18th Birthday Party. The room can fit up to 30 guests and our room had one king sized bed (we also rented another room with an extension to the Presidential suite that could sleep another 4 guests), an enourmous living room, wet bar, 2 bathrooms with a jacuzzi and his and her showers. The dining room could seat up to 12 people and you have 3 balconies over looking the ocean and mountains. The service was great, we had no complaints.

We did a catering ourder of Sushi to be delieverd in our room at 6 PM sharp and it the doorbell rang exactly at that time. The service was great.

One of the most dissapointing aspects about this room is the "technology" the room offers. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi, but for a $2,800 nigh, we expected the room to have Flat Screen Televisions or at least Wide Screen Televisions. Instead the room had a 26 inch or so Philips televison that was during the 90's era. I'm assuming this wouldn't be a problem for most people that stay in this room because they would probably spend most of their time outside their hotel room. Also, since the room was so large, the AC didn't really make the room cold, as other rooms. The party didn't end till 5 in the morning and we wanted called front desk to give us a wake up call. It took more than 20 rings for the attendant to answer the phone, this wasn't a problem but I expect them to answer the phone in less than 3 rings. This is indeed an expensive hotel afterall.

The brunch at Turtle Bay was great. One of the main attractions in this buffet were the omlete station and prime rib carving station. There was also a performer entertaning bunch guests. We were given champainge and apple cider.

We rented out 3 other regular suites and the rooms were cold at 60 degrees, in the Presidential Suite 60 degrees felt like 69.
