We stayed here for 3 nights before our Hawaiian Cruise Nov. 15-18, 2006. It was a wonderful stay. It's like having your own home and private pool. The hosts were wonderful and the "room" (more like an apartment) was stocked with everything you could possibly think of. We stayed at another B & B after our cruise that allowed for 2 night stays and while it was nice, there was no comparison. The rate was higher, they charged for things like beach towels, and it was uncomfortable staying inside someone else's home, coming in their front door and having a bedroom next to theirs, where we felt we always had to be quiet. Rainbow Inn included everything from breakfast items to all the beach equipment you could ever need and personal items in case you forgot anything. You have your own private entrance, and it is really like having your own private home. We felt at home the moment we arrived. Our flight was late and we were still greeted warmly at 11pm. We were shown where everything is and left on our own and only had as much contact as we wanted, never more, never less. The view was beautiful and the location couldn't be beat for getting anywhere on the island. We hope we get back to Oahu someday and we wil definitely be calling the Rainbow Inn again, as 3 nights was not nearly long enough to stay at such a wonderful place.

The Rainbow was our first ever B&B experience, and we were a little bit apprehensive. But ,after our wonderful stay, I can tell you that this place sets the standard. As others have described, it is located on the side of a mountain that overlooks Pearl Harbor and the views are incredible both day and night. After dark, you can lay in bed and be able to see the lights of the Pearl Harbor area.

Gene and Betty have been doing this a long time and are wonderful hosts. They were very helpful, but not intrusive. For breakfast, they had stocked for us fruit, English muffins, three different kinds of cereal, milk, and juice. The accomodations were stocked with everything possible that you could ever need, for example- the shower had 4 different shampoos.

I can't thing of a single negative. This is a great place with wonderful hosts.

I just want everyone to know how much we enjoyed our stay in lovely, well-stocked Rainbow Inn. More beautiful and better view than the pictures on the web site. And they were so nice to invite us up to see the rest of the view from their home upstairs. What a wonderful experience at Rainbow Inn. We will definitely have to get back there again.

You will not find a better place on Oahu than the Rainbow Inn. You may find some different places -- and if beachfront is your thing, then Rainbow Inn's not your place. But if you want a central location for seeing Oahu, an incredible view, an immaculate private pool on a hillside overlooking Pearl Harbor, and the most hospitable hosts around, look no further than the Rainbow Inn.

I stayed here with my parents -- their first trip to Hawaii, though I have visited many times. First, we were there on December 7th. My parents are both history buffs, and I shared this with Betty (wife of Gene and half of your fabulous host pair at the RI). She told me about a flyover that they watch from their lanai every Dec. 7th (we watched with them) -- I knew my parents would LOVE that. A couple of days before we left, Betty e-mailed me -- she had heard about a special boat tour of Pearl Harbor for Dec. 7th and had secured tickets for my parents and me, as well as for her and Gene. Wow! Unbelievable!! The tour was great, and I was so grateful to Betty for arranging it!!

The room was clean and the fridge was stocked -- she even asked what kind of milk we drink (vanilla soy) and had it there for us, along with cereal, fruit, coffee, english muffins, jams, etc. -- the perfect start to our day.

My regrets: we didn't stay long enough, didn't get to use the pool (because we were too busy!), and we had to leave :(. If we're back in Oahu (or even if I'm back alone) I will stay at the Rainbow Inn again -- if I'm lucky enough to get in.
