“Outstanding value, location, room, service”

The Royal Lahaina was outstanding in every respect. The desk manager greeted us by name when we pulled up. They took us directly to our room overlooking the beach (note: the higher floors are by far the best views). The room was immaculate. It had been remodeled with beautiful dark woods, louvered balcony doors and bathroom/room divider, matching furniture, great linens, etc. The balcony overlooked the beach looking north and west with a wonderful view. Even with a nightly luau nearby, the room itself was remarkably quiet and could be kept very dark for late sleepers. We found a gift of champagne in the refrigerator to welcome us for our honeymoon. The restaurant overlooks the pool and beach, thus the location was great. The breakfast buffet was always very tasty (beware lest birds--inside and out--eat from your plate if you step away from the table). Dinner was also very good. Good snorkeling just a few hundred yards down the beach (either direction). We loved our stay at the Royal Lahaina and would recommend it highly.

A WORD OF ADVICE: avoid buying ANYTHING from the poolside activities desk as they charge $15/day for one set of snorkel equipment--when you can get it for $1.50 nearby--and their people will try their best to sell you ridiculously expensive sunglasses, snorkel trips, sunscreen, etc.

“Loved the Royal Lahaina”

Royal Lahaina Resort

My husband and I stayed at the Royal Lahaina from June 11 to June 18th. We had a wonderful time celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We were upgraded to an ocean view room, which was beautiful! The atmosphere at this resort is very quite and calming. We enjoyed eating at the restaurant at the resort. The pancakes with macadamia nuts and coconut syrup was wonderful.

The Royal Lahaina is on a beautiful beach and is close to the Whalers Village and the town of Lahaina. We used the free trolley a number of times to get to the Whalers Village. The Whalers Village has great shopping and restaurants.

We booked our tours from Pleasant Holidays which is right at the Royal Lahaina. Everything about the Royal Lahaina was fantastic. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

We would return to this beautiful resort.

“Great deal”

We were really happy with this hotel. The lobby isn't much, and overall things look a little old, but the room was really nice. LCD TV, teak wood furnishings, Hawaiian touches. The rooms had been redone recently for sure.
We were on the top floor, in the back of the hotel, and we still could see the ocean from the bed. This was a much better "partial ocean view" than I have experienced in other hotels.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
Also, if you can get your hands on an Entertainment book for Hawaii, the hotel resturant as well as other shops have coupons in there.

We got our hotel on Priceline for about 160 per night, double occupancy.

“Great hotel”

Royal Lahaina Resort

5 of 5 stars

We had a great experience at this hotel! Very friendly staff at check in and helping us with our bags. The bellhop even told us some great restaurants in the area. I made sure that they knew it was our honeymoon and we received the King bed, as requested, a free bottle of champagne, and an awesome oceanview (which we were a little worried about because they have so many different levels for ocean view, we chose the ocean view with the free breakfast and it was one of the best views I've ever had). We did have an issue with the balcony door not locking but we were on the 11th floor so we weren't too concerned.

The breakfast buffet was one of the best that I've seen. There are so many options to choose from! The luau was good, but I have heard the the "Old Lahiana Luau" is the best one.

Our only complaint is that the lady checking us in did not tell us that we had to pay $16 a day instead of $10 to get the 2 free Mai Tai's included so we got charged for 3 days worth, so just make sure you ask about it when checking in.
