We stayed in the Honeymoon Cottage for 5 nights in January 08. We had chosen Wai Ola based on trip advisor comments and we were very glad we did.

We were shown our cottage and had a tour of the rooms and pool area from Kim - there are coolers, chairs, boogie boards etc to borrow for the time there, which was superb plus both pool towels and beach towels to use. We also used the gas BBQs which was great for a relaxing night in. The cottage is beautiful,as is the whole property - we enjoyed relaxing on our private deck as well as in the pool and hot tub.


Kim and Jim couldn't be more helpful and knowledgeable - they booked The Feast of Lele for us based on their recommendations and it was fantastic. There is also a CD of the road to Hana which we used on our day trip .

There was a lovely fruit basket in the room and also Kim's delicious baked goodies which we both enjoyed.

It's in a residential area which makes it very quiet and relaxing whilst only a 5-10 minute taxi ride from Lahaina's main tourist area, restaurants and bars- just $12 dollars in a taxi.

Overall it exceeded our expectations and if we were returning to Maui we would definately stay at Wai Ola.

After reading the amazing reviews on TripAdvisor about Wai Ola, I was smitten. I wasn't steered wrong!

Because of a late flight and lost luggage, we arrived around 11 p.m., but Kim and Jim were up and ready to greet us and give us a quick review of the room, leaving the property tour for the next day when we were more awake.

The property is beautiful and private and the birds and cat made it seem like home. My husband enjoyed swimming in the pool the short time he had to do that. Otherwise, we spent most of our days roaming about Maui. Often we would be greeted back to our room with a plate of yummy treats baked by Kim. The fruit basket kept us in breakfast for almost the whole week, and someone was nice enough to chop up the pineapple for us after the second day.

Jim and Kim were always there with an answer to a question. They always made sure we had everything we needed.

My wife and I just returned from staying at Wai Ola for the second year in a row and are happy to say that nothing has changed....Wai Ola is THE place to stay in Maui. We stayed for 10 nights in the Kuupio room in early January(08)and enjoyed every minute.
Kim & Jim are the best hosts you could want, from there tips on where to eat, to what beach to go to, not to mention Kim's baked goods(my wife ate them all!!)which we still think about.

There is a reason that Wai Ola is a Trip Advisor preferred destination three years in a row, it is no fluke. The reason is the hospitality provided by the owners that make you feel like your at home. It is a small little paradise in a great neighborhood, close to everything(Beaches, Restaurants, Golf Courses...etc).

I could go on and on, but there is no need, people who have stayed at Wai Ola and read this review will nodding there head in approvement, and for those of you thinking about where to stay in Maui..your search is over, book Wai Ola, I guarantee you will not regret it. The resort and the owners are first class in every way.

Jim and Kim are wonderful hosts. Every other day Kim brought a tasty home baked treat that was perfect when returning home for the evening. There is a DVD player in the room and a 3 page list of DVDs that they will share with you at a moments notice. Also available at no charge are beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear, boogie boards, and coolers! Kim told us to load up our car and keep the stuff for our entire trip because they had plenty for everyone. It is these little details that really makes this place special. The bed is plush and comfortable - just what you dream of after exploring all day long.

Stay here and you will NOT be disappointed. We will definitely be back.
