We booked our condo unit #K205 through Vacation Rentals By Owner (VRBO) and it was everything we had hoped. There is not much of a view from the room but we knew that. The location right in Kaanapali ensures that all of the night life of Lahaina is just a couple of miles away. The last time we were in Maui, we stayed in Kihei and found ourselves driving to Lahaina quite a bit to see the nightlife. Our condo was huge and so clean. Tile floor throughout keeps cleanup to a minimum. The only critisicm I would have is that the Maui Eldorado doesn't seem to recycle. I was separating my beverage containers and then I would see the maid put them in the trash. I'm sure that someone would take them out of the trash along the way because Maui does have a beverage container refund system in place. Other than that, the grounds were beautiful, location was awesome, the beach is spectacular (no weeds, rocks, or strong current), the staff is very friendly, their was never any noise from the road, gardeners, builders, etc. before 7. We were always up early so that didn't matter. All in all, I would give it a 9 out of 10. Thank you Barbara. (K205)

“Great deal in a great location. Wonderful stay!”

Outrigger Maui Eldorado

We're just wrapping up an almost week-long stay here and have been extremely pleased with our choice. Our studio with garden view looks just like the pictures on the Outrigger site. Spacious. Not particularly modern or luxurious, but quite comfortable. Sufficient parking ... never had trouble getting a spot in the little lot near our room.

The location is terrific. Walking distance to Whaler's Village, but not down in the noisier part of Kaanapali. Very quiet up here. We are in the far end (C building), but even then it's only a 5-10 minute walk to the Eldorado's beach cabana. Fantastic having access to that! Found out today you have to pay in other locations on the beach just to sit on a chair! Crazy. The cabana has lounge chairs, towels, bathroom, full kitchen.

I would have given it five stars, but the housekeeping was a little odd. First day, it looked like someone got distracted mid-way, leaving a stack of five washclothes on the counter, not-needed second Kleenex box on the counter and additional toiletries thrown haphazardly into the basket, emptying of one trash bin but not others. Then one day, an overwhelming number of towels on the racks, the next day, spartan number. Yesterday, we were gone all day and came back at almost 4 to find it hadn't been cleaned yet. They showed at 4 and we just said to skip that day.

That said, it was a pretty minor situation and didn't detract from us enjoying our stay. I'd highly recommend this place for the value. Great bargain in a pricey location.

Also nice having the restaurants and gym across the street. Very convenient. CJ's Diner is great for any meal. Had breakfast and dinner there and both were very good. Great when you don't have reservations anywhere and just want a tasty, casual meal.

“Quiet Value Lodging near Kaanapali Beach”

We had a five night wonderful stay at the Maui Eldorado. The condo was large and very nicely appointed. The grounds were well maintained. The location was convenient yet away from the tourist hustle. At night, it was quiet and peaceful.

I thought the condo was a good value. We paid approximately $100 per night less than if we were on a resort directly on the beach. However, be aware, it is a long walk to the beach. We were in Building C and it was a HIKE to the beach. There is a beach cabana with facilities and a refrigerator, so once you are down there, it is nice. The beach there is quiet and beautiful.

The pool near our condo was small…enough for an afternoon splash but that’s about it. The condo itself was nice. It was clean large and quiet. The resort is a true CONDO – no restaurants or bars. It’s strictly BYO everything.

“Great Place to enjoy Maui”

Outrigger Maui Eldorado

We have stayed at the Maui El Dorado every year since 1989 - we spent 6 1/2 weeks there is 1998. Just got back in July from another trip there.

It's NOT the Westin (Thankfully). So if you are expecting a resort with $20 glasses of wine - it's not your place.

It's comfortable and quiet. Easy walk to the cabana and Whaler's Village and Kaanapali Beach.

We've always had wonderful serivce and great rooms!

I spent last weekend in Waikiki and it really made me miss the Maui El Dorado!!

“The worst ever!”

This place is absolutely disgusting. We booked it for a week and ended up checking out the second day. The list of wrongs is a long one: the rooms had black mold growing in them (law suit waiting to happen), the units had terrible smells as well. The pool makes the YMCA look like the Four Seasons and not to mention there was a dead and decomposing rat on the pool deck. The staff had not cleaned the grounds in ages it seems and the person that helped us with our bags actually threw an empty bottle of shampoo onto the ground and drove away. Please, do not book your stay here, they cost us a whole day of our vacation because we called every hotel on the island practically to get another room. It is dreadful!!!!!
