“Snow King was probably outstanding when it was built but.....”

Snow King was probably a top-notch resort when it was built, which would appear to be the 1970's. It's a large ski-resort close to downtown Jackson at the base of the snow king ski area. However, it has lost a lot of its lustre and more importantly, they just miss alot of small details. During my stay there was major construction going on just outside the window. The windows in the room, as well as all of the public doors and windows looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years. The room was clean but dated. The bathroom had some mildew and didn't have an exhaust fan(!). Otherwise the room was fairly large and cheery with a good view of the mountains. The facility itself just had a "dated" feel. Carpeting throughout was kept clean but needed replacement. Hallways were banged and scratched. The whole place just needs a face lift. The staff is friendly but unenthusiastic. Parking lot is poorly lit. If you are coming during ski season, this place would probably be a good bet. If you are coming during the summer and visiting Jackson/Yellowstone, there are better places for the money.

We just returned from our stay at the Snow King Resort. We used it as our arrival/departure point for Yellowstone National Park. We flew in and out of Jackson. We made our reservations through the property directly so there were no problems. The hotel was overbooked when we got there so they upgraded our room to one of the NEW condos with a fireplace, garage parking, jacuzzi tub, his/hers vanity, kitchen, laundry room, family room, TV. When they said it was a million dollar condoplex, they weren't kidding! There is a hottub and pool around back of the main building. We slept like babies. Upon our return they put us up in the main building on the 5th floor at the end, in a suite. It was a smaller cozy room with real wood furniture and TV. We tried the day spa but it seemed to be closed. We don't recommend mile high pizza in town but do highly recommend Billy's Burgers if you like big cheeseburgers and quite a show to watch them make em'. We're glad we didn't get the rooms that other people spoke of at this hotel. We were truely blessed. You can check out some of our Yellowstone pictures coming soon to our website at www.artigraphsphotography.com

“Good Value”

Snow King Resort (Grand Vista Lodging)

We had a group of girls that had never traveled together and had never been to Jackson so we were unsure about the location of Snow King. We were very glad that we stayed in Jackson rather than the village. There was alot more shopping and dining selctions in Jackson. The Snow King is several blocks from the square but they offered a shuttle ANYTIME even though we rented a car (we could have easily used their shuttle). We were very please - the rooms were large and clean and the staff was very very helpful. We were gone most of the time so it's probably not for the honeymooners. Great for a budget trip. Thought is was a good value.

“Snow King needs to read these reviews”

We had the same problems as other reviewers, trouble checking in, booked through Orbitz, front desk didn't have the reservation, the lady at the front desk admitted they have problems with reservations through travel websites so beware...luckly they had a king room available. Wi Fi in every room is a joke, it wouldn't work ,they gave me their server's phone number to rectify and after 4+ hours on my cell phone they were no help. Had to go to the lobby to get internet service....Come on guys the lumber yard I run has excellent Wi-Fi, its not that difficult. Room was clean and quiet off the back of the lodge on the third floor overlooking the village. The heater was next to the bed and would wake us everytime it came on so we shut it off a couple nights and used the extra blankets and slept better. Overall the room was fine for the price ( $74.00 a night) through Orbitz but not worth the $169.00 or more published on their website. The bar and restaurant was expensive and not very busy, we ate in town every night.

“1977's Finest!”

Step into the time machine. From the architecture to the carpet to the paintings on the wall, the King is totally retro. Except the cost - it's up there with Jackson's contemporary elite. Enjoy the lounge and the mountain, but eat in town. We'll be back as soon as they renovate.
