April 11th, 2007 – I had the opportunity to spend one night at the Hampton Inn in Brookfield, Wisconsin. The hotel has undergone a complete renovation within the past year or so. The hotel and rooms are beautiful, functional and comfortable.
We arrived at the hotel at about noon, three hours earlier than scheduled check-in. The hotel was able to give us two of our three rooms immediately and I received my room about an hour later. Check-in was fast and I received the king non-smoking room that I had reserved.
My room, #439 was beautiful. I liked both the layout and the décor. The room featured Hampton Inn’s new style bedding and work area. The room was very clean and smelled fresh.
The king bed was very comfortable and had both feather and foam pillows. My only complaint was that the electrical outlets were hidden behind the night stands making it difficult to plug my cell phone in next to the bed. One of the features that I liked about the room was the “night lighting” above the work area. It was just enough to be able to see, but the room was dark enough to sleep comfortably.
The work area had a pull-out work table and a very comfortable office-style chair. Wi-Fi high speed internet access is complimentary, worked perfectly and was reasonably fast. Using the Speakeasy speed test download speed was clocked at 440K and upload speed at 165K. Connection to our corporate VPN worked well.
The bathroom décor was up-to-date and very functional. Amenities included shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. There were plenty of clean white towels. The shower curtain bowed outward for extra room in the shower. Water pressure was excellent and hot water was available almost immediately.
The hotel has a nice indoor pool and whirlpool spa. Next to the pool area is a compact exercise room. The exercise room had two treadmills, a stationary bike and a stair stepper. There were plenty of towels in both the pool area and exercise room.
The complimentary breakfast on the one morning I was there consisted of scrambled eggs, sausage patties, muffins and rolls, cold cereals, oatmeal, and fruit. The coffee was hot and good.
Noise bothers me and I was happy that my room was not next to either the elevators or an ice machine. Rooms X25 – X27 are across from the elevators and rooms X35 and X37 are directly across from an ice machine.
I was very happy with my stay at the Hampton Inn Brookfield. The staff was friendly and the hotel in excellent condition.
