“great hotel experience”

Salish Lodge & Spa

4 of 5 stars
memphis, tn
Oct 22, 2007

We stayed here one night this past week and loved everything about it. The room was very clean. I loved the large bathroom and the lights in the tub. Take a bath. There was a great spa tub in our room. We loved the fireplace. Our room on the first floor had a door that opened to the outside with a screen door as well as a french type door that goes out onto a small private patio with patio chairs. I had a cup of coffee out there in the morning and found that it added to the Salish experience. We were on vacation and kinda just landed at the Salish before we left for the Columbia River Gorge. Would definitely stay at this hotel again though it is 45 minutes into Seattle, it is perfect for catching I-5 out of town.

Simply put, the hotel is lovely with great service but it's way overpriced especially if you gon't get a view of the majestic falls.

The Attic dining area gets rather crowded and noisy and additionally, they are extremely hard sell on the restaurants there. Between being called before my trip and while at the hotel, I received no less than 6 solicitations to eat at their restaurant or make reservations.

“Fine Dining, Great View, Friendly staff”

Salish Lodge & Spa

Oct 19, 2007

We have long awaited the opportunity to stay at Salish for the
relaxing spa treatments, world class dining, wine list and fantastic views.

However, we found the lodge starting to show its age and in need of some upgrading and deep cleaning. The carpet in our room was so dirty our slippers and socks turned black almost immediately. Cleanliness is a huge factor to us so this was disappointing.

Other than the cleanliness factor, our room was quiet, comfortable and provided a great view of the falls. The fire was laid so all we needed to do was light the match, NICE TOUCH.
The bathroom amenities were very nice, tub, toiletries, etc. and it was very clean.

Our dining experiences surpassed our expectations. The views, food, presentation and service were all top notch. Dinners and breakfasts were fabulous.

The ambiance is wonderful . The ever present faint scent of smoke from the fireplaces along with the crackling cedar was so inviting and comforting. We loved it.

The entire staff at Salish was very warm, friendly and accommodating. They surpassed our expectations and did everything possible to make our stay memorable.

“Worst hotel experience ever!”

Salish Lodge & Spa

Sun Prairie

This place should be shut down immediately! On two of our three nights, we awoke in the middle of the night unable to breathe because the room was filled with noxious smoke (and we didn't even use our fireplace). Management's fix: the maintenance guy, unable to speak English, brought us an old rusty box fan. The smoke alarm never even went off. Is that worth $400 a night? During the day we had a beautiful view of the power transformer station and the highway. I kept searching the hotel complex for signs of Salish culture -- none to be found; not sure where the name comes from. And you have to leave the hotel property and go to the state park to actually see the waterfall. Parking is practically on the shoulder of the highway by mandatory valets. The restaurant is great if you have an unlimited bank account. If you are lucky, and live to tell about it, you can have a wonderful experience at "Salish" "Lodge".

“I only wish I could have stayed longer...”

Salish Lodge & Spa

London
Sep 23, 2007

I stayed overnight at Salish Lodge for a business conference earlier this year and only wish I could have stayed longer. I had a large room with French doors opening out to my very own private garden and a well-stocked bathroom with jacuzzi tub.

The food and service were both good and the conference facilities were equally great. The setting is unforgettable and I definitely hope to return soon.
