I stayed in this hotel for a three night reward stay. Great experience. I was given a corner room with two windows, one facing the city, and one facing the beach line. Amazing. My brother and I were put on the 17th floor, an HHonors floor, and given access to the lounge on the 20th floor for breakfast / snacks.
The room was really nice, especially the bathroom. The shower had glass doors and a dual-shower head. The room was quite large. I think being a corner room helped out with the size. The only bad thing about the room was that the Widescreen HDTV did not have any HD channels, but this was no big deal since I only watched 15 minutes of TV the entire weekend.
The hotel staff was great. Everybody we ran into in either an elevator or front desk was really nice. The pool on the rooftop was amazing. A great place to catch some sun when you get sick of laying on the beach. There were quite a few kids up there though, but they mainly stayed in the indoor pool.
We only ate at the catch 31 restaurant for lunch. Server was great, and food was reasonable for lunch prices. Good food.
I found myself wondering why people would bother to complain about some of the things in the other reviews:
1. The elevators were quick, I never waited more than 30 seconds for an elevator. They also move up and down quickly. Even when we had to make 5-6 stops our total elevator time was never over one minute.
2. Parking garage. We chose to self park. Half the garage spaces are marked as Hotel Guest / Permit parking only. There are public spaces in this garage, but you must have a hotel tag to park in the hotel spots. There were always plenty of hotel spots available, although we did see some public spots filling up quickly.
By far the nicest hotel on Virginia Beach. Had several friends staying at other various hotels along the beach that same weekend. We were glad to be staying at the Hilton after seeing their rooms, they were totally blown away by our room.
