The Royal Clipper is a wonderful quite place on the beach..but a little far from some of the nighlife spots. Theirs some stores next door and theres a outside pool i enjoyed my 4th Of July Weekend and will be coming back in August. At 1st the dvd player didnt work so we had to call the front desk so the guys could watch some dvds othere then that its a PLUS!

When I booked this vacation I wasn't sure about the hotel. I'd never been there but the price was right. We were literally right across the street from the beach at $100 less a night than the beach front hotels and we could see the ocean from our room. The room was clean and the water pressure in the shower was great. The pool is small (if you have kids that could be a plus) but you are right across the street from the beach. Free coffee and tea at all hours and I couldn't hear any of my neighboring hotel rooms - which is nice because they all had children with them. A little store is right next to the hotel too so that was also a benefit. Washer and dryer on site too so I could clean my clothes before I packed them up.

We have just returned from a four night visit at the Royal Clipper.
The Clipper is magnificent and we had incredible service. A welcoming greeting from Brian the Manager added a special touch. The fact that it was across the street from the beach was the best, even if the ocean was a little chilly that weekend. We asked Brian to recommend a good place to eat and found the Jewish Mother had extraordinary homecook food at a reasonable price.
The room was clean, bed most comfortable, bathroom seemed to have new fixtures, it even had a little refrigerator in the room for our leftovers we couldn't eat at the restaurant. While we waited for some friends to pick us up the front office offered us coffee that was fresh and told us what it was like when the season was busiest. The towels and linen were changed daily and ice down the hall. We received a great rate, a super value, for the room, way below any thing in this neighborhood, because it was before Memorial Day we were told.
Overall we would recommend choosing the Clipper if you want cleanliness, value -and best of all - closest place (without paying hundreds a night) to the nicest part of Virginia Beach.

hello,my friend and i stayed there one night .the room was very nice ,clean.i was so inpressed ,with the confont of the beds .ive stayed in alot of motels and never had one with a bed so much like my own. it dont have much of a pool. but the rooms make up for it. the only thing missing is a inside pool ,. i would probably stay there again.
