One of our biggest complaints was that there was no "homey", "hospitable" feeling. The establishment is owned by two people or two couples and is run by the son of one of the owners. Definitely an investment (rather than a passion) for the owners. It is run more like a business than a bed and breakfast.
We had dinner one night and it was good but both of the breakfasts were horrible....I had to request toast. We had a better breakfast at the Hampton Inn and that was a continental breakfast!
Another complaint is that, in addition to the state and local taxes, they added an additional 10% "gratuity" charge It appears it may have been for cleaning the room (we never got a satisfactory explanation) but I would have expected that would be included in the base price. Wouldn't you?
We were on our honeymoon and my husband had never been to a bed and breakfast. After this experience, it is going to be difficult to get him to try another B&B.
