“not that good”

We were here for one night only - thank goodness. The lobby was OK as was the bar - we met a lovely man called Mike (he drove a Nabisco truck and was a frequent visitor for a drink and a meall at the 99 which is within walking distance) This hotel is in the middle of nowhere, I can't believe anyone would choose to go to Rutland but then I suppose we did! The only other restaurant nearby is Denny's. The room was basic and clean and that is about as much as it had going for it - also we were on the 2nd floor and had to carry the cases as there was no lift

“Typical Holiday Inn”

Holiday Inn Rutland/Killington

Typical of what you would expect from a Holiday Inn. The room was clean. The staff did not change the towels or glasses after the first night. When we complained, the manager apologized and provided us with clean towels and glasses, as well as free breakfast coupons. The equipment in the exercise room was limited and aging, but good enough for a quick workout.

“Good thing they are remodeling...”

Holiday Inn Rutland/Killington

2 of 5 stars
Forest Grove, Oregon

I would not recommend this hotel. The hallways were dark, smelled of cigarette smoke and the carpets were badly stained in some areas. Our room was nicely decorated but there were dead bugs smooshed into the wallpaper. The bathroom sink drained onto the floor, and we had to pile towels under the sink to soak up the water when we brushed our teeth, washed our hands, etc. Also, the hotel advertised free wireless in our rooms but there was no wireless access in our wing of the hotel so we had to use the lobby for access. On the plus side, this hotel is currently being remodeled so maybe these problems will be fixed for future travelers.

“Ugh”

If this really is the "best hotel in Killington," as one reviewer stated...I wouldn't want to see the worst hotel in Killington.

Typical Holiday Inn decor, older bathrooms with a bit of mold in the showers, that distinctive Holiday Inn odor everywhere...some of the worst pillows I have had at a hotel in many years (we usually stay at Marriotts, and I only wish there was a Marriott in this neck of the woods!).

    • Liked — The exercise room and pool open early.
    • Disliked — Not the newest or cleanest of accomodations.

We booked a large double room with a cot for our son. Although the cot wasn't in our room a member of staff brought it up to us immediately. You get a complimentary breakfast the usual stuff donuts, muffins etc but can pay extra for a proper breakfast. the waitress took the money for the free breakfast off our bill . The room had a microwave and fridge which was useful for food for our son.The only disconcerting thing about the hotel was that there was a gun exhibition on the next day, being from the UK having a mini arsenal a few feet away was worrying, but hey thats the usa for you. We only stayed one night, not becasue of the gun show. The restaurant was very quiet as the hotel is at the far edge of town and set back from the road a bit.
