I hotwired this hotel as we were driving through Texas. I paid $79 for a 4 star, so I can't complain too loudly! The room was clean but had a stale odor. My 6 year old said it smelled like animals. The furnishings seemed to be mismatched.
OH, the bathroom! Double shower heads, luxury towels, sturdy fixtures....double shower heads!
We were starving when we arrived, so we thought we'd get something to eat around the hotel. Wrong! This hotel is on the back side of DFW airport and there is nothing around but hotels, a gas station, and a Denny's. We went ahead and checked in and decided we'd take a chance on the hotel restaurant, the BlueFire Grill. It looked nice from the lobby and it was not crowded. After waiting to be greeted at the door for 5-7 minutes, I noticed the bartender and a waitress sitting at the adjoining bar. Both looked up on seperate occasions, but neither came over or called for help. We turned and left....as did others. Now we know why it was not crowded! Their loss! But, we were still hungry. Not wanting to face my screaming 6 year olds, we walked across the street to Denny's. I swore off Denny's long ago, but I have to admit, there's nothing like eggs and hashbrowns at 10:00pm.
The pool area was nice; it stayed open until 11 pm. The attached fitness center was one of the best I'd seen in a hotel.
Would I stay here again? As long as it was only $79 a night and we arrive on a full stomach!
