“Luxury with a modern twist”

Hotel Palomar Dallas - a Kimpton Hotel

It didn't look like much from the outside, but from the moment I pulled up to the Hotel Palomar, I was impressed. The valets and check-in staff were extremely friendly and helpful, as were the room service waiters and housekeeping. The location was perfect for our girls' weekend. About 5 minutes from West Village shopping area, and probably 10 minutes or less to the North Park Mall. Parking at the hotel was $18/night.
I booked a standard room with two beds and requested an upper floor with early check in, both of which I received happily. The room (623) was comfortably large, immaculately clean, and overlooked the fabulous pool area, which was preferable to the street view. The modern decor was nicely designed and even the lobby and other public spaces were tres chic.
In the room: Two robes are provided for your stay and slipper socks are available for purchase. There is also a mini bar in the room, which is stocked with great (some healthy) snacks and drinks - of course, you pay for what you use. The large flat-screen tv was great. Another appreciated feature was a DVD/CD player, which I used to listen to my music and watch movies we brought.
Before I made the reservation, I signed up as a Kimpton member, so I am not sure what was standard treatment and what the hotel provides for their frequent travelers. Whatever the case, I loved the personal touches: personalized stationary, turn-down service with chocolates and bottled water, fresh fruit with a small canvas, paintbrush and paint if you are feeling creative.
The business center charges for internet use, but is equipped with some nice iMacs. The guest rooms also have internet access for laptops.
Room service was delicious and on time.
Exhale spa is attached to the hotel, which was nice because it was cold and rainy when I was there. I had a massage, which was pretty good, but the better thing was the steam room - really relaxing. The spa facilities seemed very clean, modern, and smelled great. Book before you go because they were busy.
I would definitely stay again and would try their other locations based on the good experience I had in Dallas.

“Hotel Palomar is a Must Stay!”

Fabulous property - most everything was wonderful about the hotel. The best part was service - we were very impressed with the quality service and friendly staff at the Palomar.

The rooms are very nice, though a bit small. The TV's are huge and the beds are as comfortable as I any hotel I have stayed at.

The spa attached to the hotel is great. Check it out.

The restaurant is okay, however, i mentioned that in my online survey after my stay and got very prompt and sincere followup from the hotel manager and the food and beverage manager. They seem to take the feedback seriously.

I am confident you won't regret your stay at the Palomar. They are a wonderful hotel with wonderful people.

By the way, our transportation to and from the airport was fabulous. Our driver was Larry Shelton and he can be reached at [-].

“ultra hip Palomar”

Hotel Palomar Dallas - a Kimpton Hotel

I styayed here with wife on Dec 29, for 2 nights. Paid regular rate of aprox 325/night for a deluxe king. Staff very friendly and helpful. Car valet guy brought car up in quick time. Check in was quick. Luggage was brought to room right away. Wife needed a razor for legs, and it was brought with in 3 minutes of the phone request. Did breakfast room service,, quick and tasty.

This was a Hilton back in the late 60's. It was closed and Kimpton totally redid it and it reopened in Sep 2006 as the Palomar. It reminds me of a -W- type of property.

They had a nice 1 hour free wine/champagne happy hour in the lobby, along with free coffee in the morning. Small touches,, but those build a repeat visit.

Small things but... in room desk area had a --4-- port electrical plug in for computers/phones. etc. Free internet, bioth wired and wirelss. 2 phones (1 handsfree), 2 line telephones. Great LG HDTV/flat panel LCD TV's... Nice radio, and cool reading lamps on bed so wife could sleep while I worked (sorry, we are married)... Another thing.... so many hotels now use compact flour. light bulbs. They put off a stange color, but at the Palomar, true incadesent bulbs, bright enough for reading/working. Lots of dimmers for lighting. Also, nice bathroom shampoo/soaps.

Wife did yoga at the Exhale spa.. Free workout equipment access. Overall a great experience and highly recommended. PS The new Trader Vic's restaurant just steps around the corner from the hotel.

“Best Hotel I've ever stayed in!”

Hotel Palomar Dallas - a Kimpton Hotel

Dec 27, 2007

I've traveled for 14 years and stayed at a number of hotels and motels. Some were good and some were not. I had the best nights of sleep at the Palomar I've ever had in my entire life! I want to buy the bed in my room!

The back massages and wine tasting while meeting the other guests in the hotel was the high point of my day. My wife and I both agree it was the best time we ever spent in a hotel.

I give it 5 stars *****!

First of all the convienet location made staying there so easy, on and off the highway in seconds, was such a treat, and made it such a breeze to travel around Dallas.
The staff was so friendly and went WAY out of thier way to accomodate and be certain I had everything I wanted \ needed.
And then the rooms were impeccably clean and so tastefully decorated with such a flair it felt like such a shame to mess it up.
Then the next day it was spotless again.
Of course the HUGE television didn't hurt.
I have travelled all over the world and have stayed at many hotels, the Palomar in Dallas is easily 6 stars, the staff really puts it over the top !
I would highly reccomend staying there, and I have, to anyone.
