Hilton Garden Inn, Market Center, Dallas.
After completing a five week business stay at this clean property, I am pleased to report an overall good experience. The staff was quite hospitable, and the location is central to Market Center, freeway, downtown, and Victory Center via automobile.
Other than a shoe outlet, and ladies clothing store directly behind the hotel, and the beautiful Hilton Anatole across the street- there is absolutely nothing within walking distance. In fact one would be well advised to only walk during daylight hours. Avoid the area a few blocks behind the hotel.
I did not experience any vehicle vandalism- but made sure to park in FRONT of the hotel. I noticed a security guard each evening who patroled the perimiter in a small jitney.
Hotel offers a $ 9.95 breakfast buffet as well as dinner service only. Small lobby kiosk sells snack items. Inside atrium restaurant is well patronized by a mostly business clientele. Oversized lobby contains many couches, chairs, to allow evening socializing. I did not notice one family with children during my stay.
Room is pleasantly appointed and contained a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. Each floor landing contains couches, chairs and table- nice touch.
Small business center has two computers, copy machine, printer, small conference table, and supplies. Nice sized work out room contains the usual equipment.
Outdoor pool area has small jacuzzi and modest sized pool, with many chaise lounges.
I always drove a few blocks to Oak Lawn Avenue for my choice of pubs and restaurants. I highly recommend Zaguan Latin Bistro & Bakery.
For the tourist or family who wishes to tour Dallas- I would recommend researching a different neighborhood as home base.
I had the opportunity to tour Greenville Avenue, Deep Ellum, South Lamar, Lemmon Avenue, and McKinney Avenue- which boasts a free trolley ride, and would suggest the same to anyone who has the time.
