This is a restaurant with rooms, and the restaurant is the reason to stay there. The rooms are OK, but no more, but perhaps unreasonable to expect much more for the price. There were minor irritations - the hair dryer did not work, but a replacement was found, and one mirror rattled whenever you walked across the floor.
We had a room at the front and were woken before 6 by a machine cleaning the pedestrianised street outside, and irritated by the noise of people using the ATM opposite at odd times. If I stayed here again I would ask for a room at the back.
The restaurant is excellent, both for dinner and breakfast. Dinner is not cheap but well worth it. The menu was long enough to offer choice but short enough to be able to provide quality ingredients well prepared for everything the two of us had over 3 courses. Breakfast was to the same quality, I do not think I have ever had better scrambled eggs, and only had better porridge in Scotland. The sausages were from the butcher next door and good enough to make us shop there before going home.
The restaurant is closed from 3 to 6 pm so you can not arrive between these hours which could be a problem for some.
Giving an overall rating is difficult, as the accomodation would only rate "OK but some problems" whereas the food is "excellent". But this is the accomodation (not the restaurant) section of the site, so only a "Neutral / average" overall.
