“Highly Recommended”

Memphis Marriott East

5 of 5 stars
Saint Louis, MO
Feb 18, 2008

We were a little worried because the hotel rate was around $100.00. Then the outside of the building doesn't look the greatest.

However, this is one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at. The staff is very helpful and the rooms are extremely nice. We've stayed at the Marriott Downtown Memphis, which costs over $200.00 a night, and this hotel beats it by a mile. The only downside is that it is a good distance from downtown which you need to consider if you are going to do any partying downtown.

For Marriott Rewards members, you get a free breakfast and I'm not talking about a small cup of coffee and a bagel. I mean a HOT breakfast buffet OR anything off the menu if you like. The breakfast was incredible and it WAS FREE EVERY DAY (again, for Marriott Rewards members).

I highly recommend this place! We are booking here again on our next trip to Memphis.

“Enjoyable Stay”

I stayed at this hotel for one night while on a business trip in Memphis. The hotel is very close to the airport and it offered a shuttle service every half hour. The airport shuttle was on time and effective. The rooms were nice with a comfortable bed, newer décor (an older TV) and a large and clean bathroom offering Bed, Bath, and Beyond products. From room service, you can order pizza (Uno’s), regular American fare (from their main restaurant), and breakfast beginning at 6:00 am. The main lobby does not have a coffee shop but they do have a coffee station with “coffee to go” available. Overall, a good stay.

“Excellent Hotel!!”

Memphis Marriott East

My wife and I just returned from a 2-night stay at the Memphis Marriott in mid-November and found very little wrong with this hotel property. At great feature with this hotel is the parking lot is gated whereas the surrounding hotels have open parking lots. Seeing as the neighborhoods aren't the greatest, you can be sure your car and (valued) Elvis memorabilia are safe. The lobby and hotel room were immaculate. Since we went during an off peak time, we had the pool and jacuzzi all to ourselves and there facilities were spotless with plenty of towels. The hotel even had bellmen who greeted veryone at the door to the lobby and never hestitated to help with your bags. I definately recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Memphis area and the price was right ($91/night).

“Nice Older Hotel”

All I really need is a comfortable bed and a hot shower and this Marriott had a very comfortable bed and a nice shower. On the downside, it had a small bathroom countertop, no fridge or microwave, the room smelled like mold, and the toilet didn't flush. A maintenance person did respond within 15 minutes and fixed the toilet.

My friend & I stayed one night here & truly enjoyed this Marriott. Beds were really comfortable (including the comfy pillows). The buffet breakfast was very nice. Location worked well for us - as we were there to visit Graceland & another friend of mine in Collierville. The staff was very helpful, friendly & willing to please. We stayed one night also at the Hyatt Place (it was fine). Would definitely stay at this Marriott should I return to Memphis in the future. I travel alot & stay in many hotels in many locations and would definitely recommend this hotel.
