My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend. We were in town for the BBQ championship. I choose to stay here for the proximity to the tourist stuff. It is well within walking distance to Tom Lee Park, Beale Street, Civil Rights Museum, etc. They only things we drove to during our stay were Graceland and Sun Studios. These were a quite a way outside of downtown.
I found the price to be about what you expect for a all-suite chain of this calibre. I had tried to stay at a less expensive place, however most everything was booked. The hotel was clean and very well-maintained, however it had no personality or elan, just your basic chain hotel.
The room itself was nice. It was a suite so we had a nice sitting area with kitchen area (Microwave, sink, counter space). The sitting area had a couch and 2 chairs. The bedroom area was fairly normal. Mattress was nice and comfortable.
The only problem that we had is that the thermostat on our room was broken. After checking in, I mentioned this to them as we were leaving for dinner. Upon our return, when I entered the room it was still quite warm and stuffy. They did not have it repaired. I went back to the front desk to ask for it to be repaired, and they gave us a new room, this met my expectations.
Overall, I found this hotel to be fine. Nothing great, nothing bad. Pretty much what you would expect. In the future, I would probably try to find a cheaper option. We didn't need the extra spacethat a suite provides. However, if I were to travel for business, I would think to stay here. Enough room to work, or meet with people.
