“Great value - wonderful stay”

We spent three nights at the Comfort Inn in Memphis after originally planning to be there just one night - but there's so much to see and do in Memphis (and I don't mean Graceland either) that we decided to spend two more nights there. I'm glad they were able to get us in, because the Liberty Bowl was happening and the hotel filled up really quickly.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and leaving out a tray of cookies & fresh coffee in the afternoon was a nice touch. And we were happy that we had some protein options with the continental breakfast (yogurt, hardboiled eggs) as well as the habit-forming buttermilk biscuits :) There was secured parking in the garage for $5 a day, and going in-and-out was not an issue (which was good because while the Comfort Inn is downtown, it's further than one would think from some major attractions).

There was a safe in our room which we did not use, and a daily safe charge appeared on our bill - it was removed once I explained to the desk clerk that we never used the safe. As another reviewer noted, the bathroom sink area was granite and marble - nicer than what I'd expect for a mid-level chain. The room was spotless and kept so during our stay. And the fact that the hotel was full of Mississippi State fans and still quiet must mean that the walls are adequately thick :)

I really liked Memphis, much more so than Nashville - it's got a friendlier, more welcoming vibe and this was reflected in the staff from those at the front desk to housekeeping. All in all, a great experience.

“couldn't have been better”

We were very impressed with this hotel. The room was quite large and had a mini fridge, coffee pot, iron, ironing board, hair drier and microwave.
The continental breakfast included hot waffles. The furniture and fabrics were upscale (granite counter tops in the bathroom) but showed a little bit of wear. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The location felt relatively safe, and the parking lot was well lit.
It was convieniently close to the highway but still quiet.
I will definately be staying at the Comfort Inn on future trips to Memphis.

“Adequate, but no amenities”

We were going to Graceland and figured we could get a Motel there easily without booking ahead. There were a lot of conventions though and places were pretty well booked up. We used the Hotel Travel Savers book, and decided to try this one. We wanted a pool and two rooms, there were 4 adults and 2 children.
The price was reasonable, and the rooms clean. The area wasn't the best but we had no problems other than a woman in the parking lot with 3 kids, trying to beg money.
There were absolutely no amenities, except 2 small bars of soap if that counts. No shampoo, hair dryers , coffe makers, clocks , refrigerators or microwaves,or continental breakfasts like we're used to getting at that price. but the pool was nice and seemed clean although it didn't smell of chlorine, and the kids enjoyed it, and the staff was friendly, and beds firm but comfortable, two to a room.
we'd reccomend it.
